Haters Buy Full-Page Ad In Washington Post To SCOTUS: We Won't Honor Your Same-Sex Ruling

A group of hate groups and "Christian" leaders, under the banner name "Defend Marriage" has purchased and published a full-page message to SCOTUS in the Washington Post.

At the bottom of the ad, you see a list of the usual suspects: Mat Staver, Elaine Donnelly, the Benham brothers, Alveda King, Jim Garlow, John Hagee and E.W. Jackson.

From the ad:

We affirm that any judicial opinion which purports to redefine marriage will constitute an unjust law, as Martin Luther King Jr. described such laws in his letter from the Birmingham Jail.

We are Christians who love America and who respect the legitimate rule of law.

However, we will not honor any decision by the Supreme Court which will force us to violate a clear biblical understanding of marriage as solely the union of one man and one woman.

We affirm that Marriage, as existing solely between one man and one woman, precedes civil government.

Though affirmed, fulfilled, and elevated by faith, the truth that marriage can exist only between one man and one woman is not based solely on religion but on the Natural Law, written on the human heart.

It's worth noting that SCOTUS has already voted in private on the case. All we're waiting for is for the opinions to be written and released.

Tony Perkins Introduced As Hate-Group Leader On FACE THE NATION

Finally! This just makes my day that a network news show exposes Tony Perkins and the Family Research Council for who and what they are.

During a discussion about marriage equality on Face the Nation, CBS host Bob Schieffer began by noting that the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) had determined that Perkins' organization, the Family Research Council, was a "hate group."

"The Southern Poverty Law Center has branded the Family Research Council an anti-gay hate group," Schieffer explained as if it were a warning to his viewers. "We have been inundated by people who say we should not even let you appear because they, in their view -- quote -- you don't speak for Christians."

Following Perkins, Evan Wolfson of Freedom To Marry spoke with Schieffer about the momentum of the marriage equality movement.

It's reported that Perkins refused to appear face to face with Wolfson, and would only appear "back to back."

RNC Taking All-Expenses Paid Trip To Israel With Hate Group

Why are members of the Republican National Committee taking an all-expenses paid trip to Israel on behalf of certified hate group American Family Association? A group that says gays are "responsible for the Nazi party" and that "atheist Jews" are one of the worst enemies of America?

Tony Perkins' Shorts In A Knot Over President Obama's National Prayer Breakfast Comments

In an email blast last night hate group leader Tony Perkins attacked the President for comments made at yesterday's National Prayer Breakfast:

In a speech that I can only describe as surreal, the President went on to liken Christians to the monsters behind ISIS and American racism. "And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ." First of all, the crusades were almost a thousand years ago. ISIS is killing today. What's more, every true follower of Christ condemns the acts of barbarism committed under the mask of religion -- in medieval or American history. The teachings of Christianity do not call for, nor do they condone, brutality or bigotry. Can the same be said of Islam? Are Muslims around the world denouncing the ruthless and inhumane actions of ISIS?

While Perkins may not like the truth, Jim Crow laws and the Crusades DID happen. And the fact is we must learn from the past.

Interesting that in arguing against marriage equality, Perkins LIKES to reference the past, but today when the Crusades are mentioned he dismisses the issue with "that was almost a thousand years ago."

More and more Perkins gets his panties in a wad over occasions when the President doesn't choose to use Perkin's specific language on issues. It really seems to turn him into an impertinent child.

Hate Group Leader No More - Bryan Fischer Fired By American Family Association

For years, readers have seen me posted about the outrageous and hateful things that have spewed forth from Bryan Fischer - now formerly of the hate group, the American Family Association.

It seems all things must come to an end something, as the AFA announced tonight that Bryan Fischer is no longer the spokesman for the organization; the position he has held for years.

Rachel Maddow tonight broke news that the American Family Association has officially fired notorious evangelist Bryan Fischer after a controversy involving the RNC and Israel. Fischer is notorious for having some––well, let’s not sugarcoat it––crazy views on gays, “homofascists,” more crazy views on gays, and… yeah, basically a lot of gay stuff.

Fischer is so out there, he concocted some insane conspiracy theory last year that the only reason Shepard Smith wasn’t freaking out about Ebola is because he wants to support President Obama‘s big government gay agenda.

At issue this time is an RNC trip to Israel that was apparently being paid for by the American Family Association, of which Fischer is the director of issues analysis.

Or, rather, he was. Until today.

Maddow quoted AFA President Tim Wildmon as dismissing Fischer as “just a talk show host” who is no longer associated with the AFA. When asked specifically what bothered him about Fischer, he cited “the soundbite quotes, you know, the Hitler and the homosexuality one… we reject that.”

Anti-Gay 'National Organization For Marriage' Sees Donations Drop Over 50%

Brian Brown over at the ironically named National Organization for Marriage might need to worry about feeding his kids soon if NOM's funding continues to dry up as it has in the past year.

According to analysis of the organization’s 2013 tax filings done by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), NOM raised $5.1 million in 2013, dropping by over 50% since 2012. Just 2 donors accounted for more than half of the organization’s funding – further evidence that everyday Americans have little interest in furthering NOM’s extremist agenda. In addition, the NOM Education Fund also dropped by nearly $3.5 million in funding -- a drop of almost 70% since the previous year. NOM ended the year more than $2.5 million in debt.

“NOM should start figuring out that people aren’t willing to give their hard-earned money to an extremist agenda that's going nowhere,” said Fred Sainz, HRC Vice President of Communications. “If I were Brian Brown, I’d be worried that my two or three mega-donors are soon going to come to terms with the fact that they’d largely be better off flushing money down the toilet. Americans certainly aren’t buying what NOM is selling, and it’s only a matter of time before the trickle of money keeping the lights on at NOM HQ dries up.”

It's important to note from that quote - "Just 2 donors accounted for more than half of the organization’s funding." Which means that most Americans are not part of NOM's hate campaign.

And there's more bad news for NOM:

• The Maine Commission on Governmental Ethics and Election Practices voted unanimously to impose record civil penalties against NOM totaling $50,250 due to non-disclosure violations

• "Strong Opposition" to marriage equality has dropped to a low of 28%

Anti-Gay Activist Tony Perkins: Americans Will NEVER Accept Marriage Equality

Virulently anti-gay Tony Perkins, of the hate group Family Research Council, was on yesterday's edition of "Washington Watch" using the same scare tactics his ilk have used for so long now in trying to deny equal rights to LGBT Americans and insisting that a majority of Americans will never support marriage equality:

Perkins said that just as reproductive rights debates are still contentious because legal abortion “runs contrary to nature,” gay marriage will similarly never be “resolved” until it is banned throughout the nation.

“I don’t care what they do, how oppressive government becomes in order to force this agenda through, they will never force Americans to accept this, the majority of Americans to accept it. Won’t happen,” he said. “Some may go silent, some may be carried away but they will not resolve this issue, trust me.”

Note the choice of words - "impose," "force," "oppressive." He really makes equal rights sound chilling, doesn't he?

And that's how they work, kids. That's how they work.

Anti-gay Mat Staver is Mad He's Been Labeled "Anti-Gay"

Mat Staver, speaking at the Values Voter Summit this weekend, expressed his deep hurt he feels that he has somehow been labeled an "anti-gay extremist."

Just because he campaigns against equal rights for LGBT people. Just for that, he's called a "hater."

It's exactly the hate that he does propagate that resulted in civil rights groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center and People For The American Way writing a joint letter to the Republican National Committee asking the GOP members to not take part in the weekend's hate summit.

Isn't that awful? (Sarcasm intended).

Staver's organization, Liberty Counsel, is among those very sponsors and he is not very happy about being labeled an anti-gay extremist, despite this long and documented record of being one. Staver fumed that he is being attacked merely for believing "in God's natural created order of male and and female and marriage as the union of one man and one woman."

"For me believing in something that is that obvious," he complained, "I am considered by some groups to be a hater. But I hate no one. I hate no one, but I believe in God's truth and I will not be silent in the face of intimidation."

In an effort to prove that he is not an extremist, Staver then went on to liken himself to Jesus when he turned over the tables of the money changers in the temple before declaring that marriage equality teaches that children do not need mothers or fathers.

American Family Association: All Immigrants Should Be Forced To Become Christians

In spite of the fact that we have a US Constitution that all Americans have freedom of religion, Bryan Fischer (anti-gay hate group American Family Association) says that US immigration policy should be based upon the Bible, which means that all immigrants should be required to convert to Christianity.

Megyn Kelly's obsession with hate group leader Tony Perkins

Tony Perkins is president of the Family Research Council, a hate group that claims gay men are more likely to be pedophiles than straight men.

Tony Perkins is the president of the Family Research Council (FRC), an organization that was labeled an anti-gay "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law Center in 2010. He has called pedophilia "a homosexual problem," claimed that gay men "recruit" children into homosexuality, and endorsed a Uganda law that would have imposed the death penalty for homosexuality. His organization regularly produces anti-gay propaganda depicting gay people as abnormal, unnatural, and destined for "eternal damnation."

He’s also one of Fox News host Megyn Kelly’s favorite guests.  She has had Perkins on her show more than any other Fox News show combined.

Why does she welcome the spokesman for a certified hate group to her show?

Bryan Fischer is mad at the Proud Whopper

Right Wing Watch reports on the extreme rhetoric and activities of key right-wing figures and organizations by showing their views in their own words.

In this video, Bryan Fischer says Burger King's "Proud Whopper" is a disastrous idea because nobody wants to eat a hamburger that makes them think about two guys having sex.

I posted about the "Proud Whopper" last week when the story made news. The new marketing campaign only took place at one location in San Francisco, and the hook was that customers and employees couldn't tell the difference between the "regular" Whopper and the "Proud Whopper" - until the sandwich was unwrapped where Burger King had printed “We Are All the Same Inside.”

Clearly, the message was lost on Fischer...

Tony Perkins: LGBT groups want daycare and summer camps to celebrate the gays

Hate group leader Tony Perkins took to his Family Research Council blog to drop some red meat to his followers on the recent withdrawal of support by LBGT advocacy groups for ENDA legislation in light of the recent Hobby Lobby ruling by SCOTUS:

Speaking of ideological oppression, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) is full of it. But apparently, not full enough to suit the radical Left. After months of demanding action, liberals are abruptly bailing on the legislation, which many of them called their top legislative priority. The about-face comes just days after the Supreme Court upheld the religious rights of businesses like Hobby Lobby. It's a ruling, liberals worry, could translate into new protections for employers with similar faith-based objections to homosexuality.

For President Obama, who was on the brink of imposing ENDA rules on federal contractors by executive order, this new split certainly throws a wrench into the White House's plans. Several of the LGBT's political heavyweights, including the ACLU, GLAAD, Lambda Legal, and the National center for Lesbian Rights and the Transgender Law Center, issued a joint announcement withdrawing their support for the Senate bill because of its religious exemptions. As far as these groups are concerned, the exemptions (which, ironically, were a condition of many Democrats' support) "allow religious organizations to discriminate based on sexual orientation and gender identity."

This is how extreme homosexual activists are. If they can't demand acceptance from every American, regardless of their moral views, then they aren't interested in enacting ENDA. Not until they can order Christian schools, daycares, summer camps, and other role model occupations into celebrating a lifestyle diametrically opposed to their faith. Leaders in Congress and elsewhere mistakenly think they can satisfy this radical fringe by climbing aboard the "special rights" bandwagon. They can't. The only satisfaction they're interested in is complete and utter surrender.

A couple of things here:

First, the religious exemptions which are currently a part of the ENDA bill were not so much a "condition" as a "concession" necessary to get the votes to pass the bill in the Senate.

Second, note how Perkins keeps using the phrase "special rights" - because if he does it enough, his followers will pick up the same usage and do the same. "Gays want special rights; gays want special rights."

No. We don't. We want equal rights.

The more you pay attention to all of this, the more you realize it truly is a game for many of the haters AND it's a career. Sadly, a very profitable one. These folks make very good incomes stirring up friction between groups of people.

Tony Perkins plays the 'bad loser' over LGBT Executive Order

"After 30 days of nonstop, in-your-face celebration, the White House is capping off 'gay pride' month with its biggest gift yet. Next Monday, the pot of gold at the end of this President’s rainbow is an executive order giving special workplace benefits to the sexually confused.

"For the far-Left, it caps off a long fight to get the administration to do what Congress has not: order employers to put aside their profits, principles, and practices in the name of political correctness.

"The President’s order implementing part of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) -- once considered 'too radical' even for his own party -- forces government contractors and subcontractors to hire gays, lesbians, transvestites, and transsexuals -- regardless of their legally protected morals.

"This level of coercion is nothing less than viewpoint blackmail -- and from the federal government no less!"

You'll note how Perkins calls President Obama's executive order calling for federal contractors to treat LGBT folks with dignity "special workplace benefits."

And he refers to the gays as "sexually confused."

ENDA is hardly "too radical" for the President's own party - the US Senate passed the legislation months ago in a bipartisan fashion.

What Perkins can't handle is the fact that those he openly disdains are slowly but surely finding their way to equality.  And he can't stop it.

NOM's Hate Rally sees sparse turn out

The ironically named National Organization for Marriage has an epic fail on it's hands today as it's "national event" in the form of an anti-gay hate rally #March4Marriage sees a very sparse turn out.

NOM's anti-gay hate march in Washington DC today

Today is the anti-gay National Organization for Marriage's hate rally to oppose marriage equality.

This has been promoted as a "national" event, and that huge numbers of people would be showing up from around the country to listen as the haters speechify about how terrible it is that the gays are getting equal rights.

Note in the picture above the 200-300 folks at the rally so far.

Folks for equality are using the event's hashtag - #March4Marriage - to share how we feel about equality for all today.  Make sure you use the hashtag as you tweet today.

The scare tactics in this video promoting the National Organization for Marriage's "March for Marriage" on June 19th includes just about everything they can think of:

Intolerance!
Unelected judges!
Bakers!
Photographers!
Benghazi! (Ok, that one they did leave out this one time...).

Sad that all of this is in the name of preventing a segment of Americans from having equal rights.

Tony Perkins: Dan Cathy of Chick-Fil-A is a "coward"

In a strange, topsy-turvy world, Mike Huckabee chats with hate group leader Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council about how those who would keep the LGBT community from having equal rights are somehow the 'victims' of attacks on their religious freedoms. See, in their world, it is their right to discriminate against other Americans. And those who would seek to express themselves through their wallets are "economic terrorists."

During the segment, Tony Perkins calls out Chick-Fil-A CEO Dan Cathy as a "coward" for stepping back from his opposition to marriage equality.

But remember, Tony Perkins and his ilk are the 'victims' here.

When major national Christian groups with millions of followers call for boycotts, that is a righteous use of the free market in order to preserve morality, marriage, family, and the American way. One Million Moms is sad about Honey Maid's diverse, inclusive ads

One Million Moms (which is really closer to 64,000) weighs in hating on the terrific new campaign by Honey Maid that includes families of all shapes, races and gender.

Nabisco should be ashamed of themselves for their latest Honey Maid and Teddy Graham cracker commercial where they attempt to normalize sin. Right away it shows two men with a baby, followed by other families, and ends with different families pictured including the one with two dads. This commercial not only promotes homosexuality, but then calls the scene in the advertisement wholesome. The ad states, "Everyday wholesome snacks for every wholesome family. This is wholesome."

One Million Moms stands up for Biblical truth which is very clear in Romans 1:26-27 about this particular type of sexual perversion. Honey Maid is also using the hashtag #thisiswholesome. There is concern about the way this ad is pushing the LGBT agenda, but an even greater concern is the way that they are changing the meaning of the word "wholesome." This is truly sad. If this is what Honey Maid thinks is wholesome, then my family will no longer purchase Honey Maid or Nabisco products.

Is it awful how happy this family is?  What kind of moms would hate this beautiful family?  I think it's great.
