Burger King is sending a message in support of self-expression with a new video in support of their new Proud Whopper Sandwich.
The video was created at a Burger King at the heart of the San Francisco Pride Parade route where the limited edition Proud Whopper Sandwich was added to the menu.
Of course, curious minds ask "what is different about the Proud Whopper?"
And the delicious answer is - nothing. It's the same iconic fire-grilled Whopper Sandwich beloved since 1957, but wrapped in rainbow colored paper inscribed with a message reading: “we are all the same inside.”
This is one of the very first campaigns the company has launched since changing its “Have It Your Way” tagline in May to “Be Your Way.”
“As a brand, we welcome everyone,” Fernando Machado, senior vice president of global branding said. “We felt that [the Proud Whopper] could bring to life a message of equality, self-expression, authenticity and just being who you are.”
