We talk a lot about Olivia's music I am so glad 2 get 2 see her Concert once more don't get me wrong the movie was Great the funniest I have seen in a very long time But I listen 2 her sing everyday. ReplyDeleteI watched ONJ in concert at Hong Kong last night! It's fabulous! It seems to me that she's much more powerful(voice wise) & more energetic (at her performance)than the last time I saw her (2006 on her last visit!). Best of all, I sat at the centre of the 2nd row which made it much more memorable! We all have a fantastic evening! Thanks Livvy (& Randy who informed us the show here!)! Can't wait for her next show here again....hopefully it's not another 6 years!!!

ReplyDeleteWhile it's great to see Livvy still still touring she has yet again snubbed her UK/European fans and whats more in an interview in a UK mag recently she was asked what she would rather do at the olympics to sing or take part, she said she would rather play tennis. ReplyDeleteToomorrowman - Olivia hasn't "snubbed" anyone. At this time, she has not received an offer to do a concert in the UK.
ReplyDeleteThe way this all works is: local concert promoters send an offer to Olivia's agents to bring her to a specific city for a concert. Olivia doesn't just decide "gee, I'd like to go to xxxxx"
An offer needs to come in from a promoter in Cleveland or London or Amsterdam. That's how it works. Olivia isn't deciding "I'll go here but not here." It's about receiving an offer and making the offer work due to schedule and finances. That's just how things work. Please don't demonize Olivia because a promoter near you hasn't made an offer. Contact a promoter in your area and say "please bring Olivia Newton-John here for a concert." That will serve you better....
Ahhhh..I see! Thanks Randy! No wonder I couldn't find any of her concert during my time (15 years!!)in UK, but managed to see all 3 of her concerts since I returned to Hong Kong (2000, 2007 & 2012)I should thank my local promoters & wish them to bring back ONJ asap!! LOL

ReplyDeleteHow much longer before your fans in the UK get a tour of their own. We are desperate to see you because you have been back in the habit of touring now for over a decade and yet, we haven't seen you since 1978.
ReplyDeleteFrom August '86 to May '89 I went to something like 300-350 concerts and have seen almost all of my musical idols live and the ones that are left to see, you can count on one hand, and the most important of those left to see before I die, is you.
But, I want the whole gig ( if you'll pardon the pun ). I want the whole concert on DVD ( including the entire encore ) and the whole concert on a double CD, plus tour T-shirts and programmes - "The Works!".
I am 46 and have been a fan of yours since the age of 8, so a fan for 38 years and counting!

ReplyDeleteI can recall getting through my childhood by singing every song Olivia recorded from through 89. Memorizing each to a "T" resulting in being the lead singer in my own band as a young lady and doing commericials, etc...
ReplyDeleteall I wanted was to meet ONJ...oh well....to this day I wish her and her family well and admire her as an artist.
Where does she mainly reside these days? Does anyone know? Latey with a small children and family of my own and staying very busy giving back has left very little time to belt out those amazing lyrics... Does anyone have any accurate info. on how she is really doing these days. We wish her much good health and happiness!
