Fox News Announces Which GOP Hopefuls Made The First Debate Stage

Fox News announced the "top 10" Republican presidential hopefuls who - by an average of the 5 most recent national polls - are in the top 10, making them eligible for the first GOP debate.

And the "winners" are:

1) Trump
2) Bush
3) Walker
4) Huckabee
5) Carson
6) Cruz
7) Rubio
8) Paul
9) Christie
10) Kasich

Which leaves Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Bobby Jindal, Lindsey Graham, Carly Fiorina, George Pataki, and Jim Gilmore watching from the sidelines.

National Organization For Marriage Loses AGAIN In Court

The virulently anti-gay National Organization for Marriage has lost yet again in it's efforts to hide their donor list from their campaign against marriage equality in Maine.

From LGBTQ Nation:

Maine’s ethics commission fined the National Organization for Marriage $50,250 last year for violating the state’s campaign finance laws and ordered it to file a campaign finance report that would reveal who supported the 2009 referendum that struck down Maine’s gay marriage law.

The group sought to delay filing of the report, pending the outcome of its appeal in court of the commission’s decision.

But the Maine Supreme Court denied that request Tuesday, saying it’s unlikely that NOM will be successful in its appeal.

Brian Brown, president of the group, said he believes NOM is being unfairly targeted because of its views on marriage.

National Organization For Marriage Loses Again In Court

Several months back, the ironically named National Organization for Marriage lost a lawsuit filed against the government, having alleged that the NOM's donor info had been illegally leaked to the HRC by the federal government.

The government did award NOM $50,000 for the "unintentional disclosure" but it was approximately 23% of what they asked for at the time - which was over $217K.

After losing, NOM asked the court to award the haters money to the tune of $700K for "attorney's fees."

Today, the Federal District Court in Virginia told NOM "tough titty." No money for you.

From the ruling:

For the reasons stated above, in strictly construing the fee-award statute in favor of the Government, the Court will deny NOM’s Motion in its entirety.

Accordingly, the Court need not address the reasonableness of NOM’s $691,025.05 fee request.

Homo-con group GOProud takes credit for veto of Arizona's "License to Discriminate" bill

Homo-conservative group GOPRoud sent out the letter below, hours after Governor Brewer of Arizona vetoed the "License to Discriminate" bill. In the letter, the group takes credit for Brewer's decision to veto the legislation.

On Tuesday GOProud sent out a statement encouraging Governor Jan Brewer to veto Arizona Senate Bill 1062, which would have legalized the discrimination of gay individuals.

Today, we are proud to share with you the news that the Governor Brewer has vetoed that legislation. It is because of supporters like you that the message of freedom is reaching conservative leaders all across America.

Governor Brewer's decision reinforced the voices of several influential Republicans like Senator John McCain, Senator Jeff Flake, Governor Mitt Romney, Governor Rick Scott, and Speaker Newt Gingrich, who all spoke out against SB 1062, just like we did.

Anti-gay organizations respond to SCOTUS marriage equality rulings

"By striking down the federal definition of marriage in DOMA, the Court is asserting that Congress does not have the power to define the meaning of words in statutes Congress itself has enacted. This is absurd. The Defense of Marriage Act imposes no uniform definition of marriage upon the individual states. However, the states should not be able to impose varying definitions of marriage upon the federal government. The ruling that the federal government must recognize same-sex ‘marriages’ in states that recognize them raises as many questions as it answers. For example, what is the status of such couples under federal law if they move to another state that does not recognize their ‘marriage?’ This decision throws open the doors for whole new rounds of litigation.

"We are disturbed that the court refused to acknowledge that the proponents of Proposition 8 have standing to defend Proposition 8. This distorts the balance of powers between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government. "In a miscarriage of justice the US Supreme Court has refused to consider the decision of a single federal court judge to overturn the perfectly legal action of over 7 million California voters who passed Proposition 8 defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. The Supreme Court's holding that proponents of an initiative had no legal right to appeal ignores California law and rewards corrupt politicians for abandoning their duty to defend traditional marriage laws.

Former Jersey Shore character backpedals on anti-gay comments

Former Jersey Shore star Angelina Pivarnick is backpedaling on an anti-gay rant that brought her a good deal of criticism this week.

In a recent online debate with gay singer Adam Barta, Pivarnick had said gay couples shouldn’t marry, adding, “If you want to date each other, fine. We’ll see how it works. But in the end, they should really go and marry the other type.” She also said she had kissed other women in bars and had offers of sex from them, which she turned down.

Now Pivarnick tells TMZ that many of her gay friends have informed her “how ignorant my comments were.” She offers an apology to anyone who was offended and adds, “I’m starting to understand that no one should be denied the chance at happiness that marriage brings.”

Pivarnick appeared on the first two seasons of the reality show.
