Outgoing Congresswoman Michele Bachmann found her advice to President Obama at the White House Christmas party on bombing Iran didn't land exactly how she expected. Via Mediaite:
“I turned to the president and I said, something to the effect of, ‘Mr. President, you need to bomb the Iranian nuclear facilities, because if you don’t, Iran will have a nuclear weapon on your watch and the course of world history will change,’” Bachmann said.
“And he got his condescending smile on his face and laughed at me and said, ‘Well Michele, it’s just not that easy.’
And I said to him, ‘No, Mr. President, you’re the president, it will happen on your watch, and you’ll have to answer to the world for this.’
And that was it and then I left. Merry Christmas.”
Rep. Michele Bachmann wants to hold a rally in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, December 3 at "high noon" on the west steps of the Capitol.
"We need to have a rally, and we need to go visit our senators and visit our congressmen, because nothing frightens a congressman like the whites of his constituents' eyes."
Bachmann wants Congress to defund Obama's executive action on immigration reform.
Readers may remember Mark Kessler, former sheriff of a small rural Pennsylvania town who went viral last August with his gun-laden YouTube videos - which eventually got him suspended by his town council.
Well, he's back.
The word "unhinged" comes to mind here. Who even knows what brought this on?
For all those folks who support everyone in the world having a gun - doesn't this make you just a little bit uneasy?
Former NBA star Dennis Rodman has issued an apology for his strange and bizarre rant yesterday in an interview with Chris Cuomo of CNN inferring that he was drunk at the time:
"I want to first apologize to Kenneth Bae's family. I want to apologize to my teammates and my management team. I also want to apologize to Chris Cuomo.
"I embarrassed a lot of people. I'm very sorry. At this point I should know better than to make political statements. I'm truly sorry. I had been drinking. It's not an excuse but by the time the interview happened I was upset. I was overwhelmed."
In an interview on Fox News, the former half-term governor of Alaska shared her very sunny view of the fate of the GOP after dropping to record low approval numbers in light of the recent government shutdown debacle.
Palin joined Megyn Kelly Thursday night, and said that she's not too worried about Ted Cruz's efforts being defeated in Congress, saying that the right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than President Obama triumphant, and if they stay united next time, they could pull off an even bigger win.
Palin goes on to say Obama is out of touch and began an odd eye rolling rant against the president on a whole range of issues from Benghazi to "threatening to withhold paychecks" from members of the military during the shutdown.
Kelly pointed out that Republicans haven't exactly done that well throughout the shutdown, and suggested this strategy has backfired so much that the GOP could lose the House. Palin was far more optimistic, saying, "If we stand united, well, then we won't lose the House, and we could even win back the Senate."
Dianne Reidy, the House Stenographer who took to the open mic at the podium following the shutdown vote to rant about God and the Freemasons, sent an email to FOX News explaining why she did it:
“For the past 2 and 1/2 weeks, the Holy Spirit has been waking me up in the middle of the night and preparing me (through my reluctance and doubt) to deliver a message in the House Chamber. That is what I did last night”
Her husband Dan says “My wife is a sweet, level-headed wonderful woman of God. I am proud of her.”
Democrats say "Let's sit down and negotiate" and the Tea Baggers rabidly yell "Shut down the government!!!"
Watch the clip, folks. The President quotes the opponents and in doing so underlines why the anti-Obamacare folks have no credibility. They just MAKE STUFF UP.
"One congressman said that Obamacare is the most dangerous piece of legislation ever passed," Obama said in Largo, Md. "Ever, in the history of America, this is the most dangerous piece of legislation. Providing -- creating a marketplace so people can buy group insurance plan, the most dangerous ever."
"You had a state representative somewhere say that it's as destructive to personal and individual liberty as the Fugitive Slave Act," he added. "Think about that. Affordable health care is worse than a law that lets slave owners get their runaway slaves back. I mean, these are quotes. I'm not making this stuff up."
"And here's one more that I've heard. I like this one. We have to, and I'm quoting here, we have to repeal this failure before it literally kills women, kills children, kills senior citizens," an incredulous Obama said. "Now, I have to say, that one was from six months ago. I just want to point out we still have women, we still have children, we still have senior citizens. All this would be funny if it wasn't so crazy."
"If you’ve ever known anyone who is a drug addict, you’d see it’s
obvious that Barack Obama was high on cocaine the night of Benghazi; it
is the only logical explanation for his disappearance and the White
House’s refusal to comment on what he was doing at the time. Since
this was a night of great crisis for our country, the only logical
reason that the White House won’t explain where the president was is if
this man was high as a kite on illegal narcotics at the time. He
reappeared again the next day, briefly, before jetting off to fabulous
Las Vegas for a fun-and-games fundraiser event he had scheduled there
(where, it also should be noted, not only Chippendales but also Thunder
From Down Under male revues are regularly held.)" - gay conservative blogger Kevin DuJan
Now, first of all, I gotta say: "the ONLY logical explanation for his disappearance?" Umm, it was the middle of the night. What did you want, Kevin? For the President to go on national TV and talk about something he didn't have all the facts for? SRSLY?
And second: what's wrong with the Chippendales? Now, the Chippendales are a bad thing?
And you think folks won't date you because you're a conservative? I got a news flash for you - folks don't wanna date 'crazy.' Case closed.
TMZ has posted the dashcam video of Reese Witherspoon's now famous arrest during a traffic stop last month.
Reese got in the officer's face and annoyed him to the point that he
arrested her for disorderly conduct. Here are some of Reese's
quotes during the incident:
Reese: "Do you know my name sir?" Officer: "Don't need to know." Reese "You don't NEED to know my name?" Officer: "Not quite yet." Reese: "YOU'RE ABOUT TO FIND OUT WHO I AM!"
Reese: "I have done nothing against the law." Officer: "Yes you did, you didn't obey my orders." Reese: "I HAVE TO OBEY YOUR ORDERS??"
Reese: "I'm now being arrested and handcuffed??"
Reese: "I'm an American citizen ... I'm allowed to stand on American ground."
Reese: "You better not arrest me."
Reese: "I'm being anti-American?" Officer: "Yes, please sit down." Reese: "Wow!"
Reese: "You're harassing me as an American citizen"
And the best line -- "I'm obstructing your justice?"
"I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about
the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was
frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to
the officer who was just doing his job. The words I used that night
definitely do not reflect who I am. I have nothing but respect for the
police and I'm very sorry for my behavior."
