'Will & Grace' To End After Season Three Of Revival

The stars of 'Will & Grace' (image via NBC)

The producers of the hit NBC sitcom Will & Grace have announced the upcoming third season of the reboot will be the show's last.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the decison was made by the cast and creators of the Emmy Award winning series.

“We think of the Will and Grace reboot episodes the way Karen Walker thinks of martinis — 51 is not enough, 53 is too many. That is why, after consulting with the cast, we all have decided this will be the final season of Will and Grace," read a statement from the show's producers.

“In 2016, Bob Greenblatt came to us with the idea of doing a 10-episode reboot of Will and Grace. They say you can’t go home again, but we did. And now, three seasons and 52 episodes later, we’re even more proud of something we never thought we’d get a chance to do again."

"We have had a once-in-a-lifetime experience twice. And for that, we owe a double debt of gratitude to NBC, this show’s supportive and caring home since day one.”

Originally, the four stars reunited for a short video in support of Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign. The buzz began about a possible reunion and NBC quickly took note.

Initially revived as as a limited series, it picked up steam and the network added more episodes and, eventually, more seasons.

The stars took to social media to share the news.

Megan Mullally Belts Out Stunning "Man That Got Away" On 'Will & Grace'

Megan Mullally's "Karen" has the blues on Will & Grace

Watching this week's mid-season premiere of Will & Grace last night, I was pleasantly reminded what a talented singer Megan Mullally is as her "Karen" delivered a stirring rendition of the iconic Judy Garland standard, "The Man That Got Away," from her 1954 film, A Star is Born.

As the divorce with her husband Stan is finalized, Karen becomes melancholy and imagines herself in a dark club at a piano (it's really a laundromat, but, isn't that always the way?).

In addition to the short snippet of the song that made the episode, the producers of W&G have posted Mullally's full performance of the song - and it is quite the moment.

Prior to W&G fame, Mullally spent many nights singing on the Broadway stage in hit musicals like Grease and How To Succeed in Business.

Will & Grace airs Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. on NBC. Check out Mullally's full performance below.

'Will & Grace' Serves Up Guest-Star Mashup Video

Patti LuPone guest starring on 'Will & Grace'
Over the 8 years of its original run (plus the two reboot/revival seasons), Will & Grace has given us not only lots of laughs from the ‘fearsome foursome,’ but tons of great guest stars.

Patti LuPone, Rosie O’Donnell, Blythe Danner, Ellen DeGeneres, David Schwimmer, Matt Bomer and Adam Rippon have all dropped by the hit NBC series to take part in the hilarity.

Plus, we’ve gotten cameo spots by music icons like Elton John, Janet Jackson, Madonna, JLo, Britney Spears and the one-and-only Cher.

With so many guest stars, the series has shared this awesome mash-up of celeb visitors over the years.

The comedy champ is still going strong having already been confirmed for a third revival season for fall of 2019.

The current second revival season returns on January 31, 2019.

Who is your favorite W&G guest star? I'll go first - the fabulous Blythe Danner (as Will's mother) always made us giggle. Totally brilliant.

Go Behind The Scenes Of Upcoming Season 10 Of 'Will & Grace"

(image via Facebook)
ET gives us our first preview of the upcoming season season 2 (really season 10 if you’re counting) of NBC’s Will & Grace.

Not only do the ‘Fab Four’ - Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally - chat on what we can expect, but we get our first look at former Friends star David Schwimmer, set for several appearances this season as Grace’s new boyfriend, “Noah.”

"Just playing at the level of this cast, who are at the top of their game, it was kind of like this great, wonderful gift," says Schwimmer, who knows a little something about sitcom ensembles at the “top of their game.”

The first thing we learn is all four are looking at big changes in their personal lives this season.

“Grace” looks to be jumping into the political arena, while “Will” heads to the classroom as a teacher. “Karen” is divorcing her husband, “Stan,” as Sean Haye’s “Jack” is prepping for his walk down the aisle with fiancé, “Estefan.”

And mixed into all those storylines are guest stars Chelsea Handler, Alec Baldwin, Jon Cryer, Minnie Driver and hunky Matt Bomer. And don't forget “America’s sweetheart” and Olympic bronze medalist, Adam Rippon, set to make a cameo.

But wait - there’s more!

The show shared an exclusive scene from the new season that apparently takes place after the wedding of Grace’s dad (played by Alan Arkin) and Will’s mother (the always brilliant Blythe Danner).

The scene opens with Jack and Karen having a hilarious kiki over drinks, remember the senior couple exchanging marriage vows.

“The look on Will and Grace’s face when his mother and her father said, ‘I do’ was priceless,” laughs Karen. “It was like, it was like…what was it like? Oh, it was like that.”

Cut to shell-shocked Will and Grace sitting stoically at the bar. Watch below.

Will & Grace premieres Thursday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

More Guest Stars Announced For Upcoming Season Of 'Will & Grace'

The cast of 'Will & Grace' (image via Facebook)

The fall television season is ramping up and as Will & Grace is prepping for reboot Season 2 (really the 10th season) of the NBC hit sitcom, and what we know so far is love is in the air for EVERYBODY:

• Will is the lucky guy who will get a new boyfriend in the form of hunky Matt Bomer who’s character is described as “a smooth-talking, self-satisfied TV news anchor. #Squee!

• Chelsea Handler is set to play a high-powered lesbian client of Grace who begins to date her sister.

• Grace gets some dating action as well with former Friends star David Schwimmer scheduled for a five-episode arc as a her new boyfriend

A post shared by Debra Messing (@therealdebramessing) on

• Taking romance to another level is Jack who announced last season he planned on getting hitched to new boyfriend Estefan (Brian Jordan Alvarez).

• AND, Grace’s father (Martin Adler) and Will’s mother (the deliciously delightful Blythe Danner) shared their own plans to stroll down the aisle, which would effectively make besties Grace and Will sister and brother (awkward?).

• More guest stars! Self-declared “America’s sweetheart” and out Olympic bronze medalist Adam Rippon continues conquering hearts and minds as he’s set to cameo as a - you guessed it - figure skater.

• The brilliant Minnie Driver will return as Karen’s foe for life, Lorraine Finster.

• And co-creator Max Mutchnick has tweeted a tease of the return of ‘Anatasia Beaverhausen,’ Karen’s infamous alter-ego.

We’ll keep you posted on new developments as they’re announced.

The 10th season of Will & Grace premieres on NBC October 4.

Video: Will & Grace Stars Chat On "Profoundly Emotional" Return Season

The cast of 'Will & Grace'

In a bonus video from the new DVD, Will & Grace (The Revival) Season One, the stars of the show chat on the experience of coming together again after an 11 year hiatus to the incredible reception from the audience.

Sean Hayes was admittedly surprised by the reaction. “It’s like, wow, people still really enjoy the show and want more of it,” said Hayes. “And we’re so thrilled to supply that, you know?”

The roller-coaster ride continued as production began. Everything was “a moment.”

“We’re done shooting the first scene, and it’s all very electric in the room, and there were so many laughs from the audience,” says Megan Mullally.

Debra Messing on taping the first new episode: “It was profoundly emotional. I think we were all surprised by it. There really is nothing that compares to the experience of a live taping.”

“It was fantastic to be front of them again,” said Eric McCormack. “We felt like rock stars and we had so much fun. And the material’s so good - these writers are on fire.”

“I’m excited and proud of what we’re producing,” he added.

The new DVD collection contains all 16 episodes from the latest season (which would technically be season 10 for the show) as well as a blooper reel and a special behind-the-scenes look at the taping of the first new episode.

Thanks to the overwhelming response, NBC has already ordered TWO more seasons of the hit sitcom.

Look for new episodes this fall and check out the gang below as they look back on the first new season of Will & Grace.

Will & Grace Pride Mash-Up: "You Are Exactly Who You Are Supposed To Be"

Sean Hayes in 'Will & Grace'

"You are exactly who you are supposed to be."

You could say that's one of the ineffable messages of Pride Month.

And underscoring yet again the impact Will & Grace has had on LGBTs and allies alike, this one minute video gets to the center of what has made the show such an enduring success.

Humor with heart.

The newly-released mash-up from the iconic sitcom in honor of Pride Month reminds us why the Will & Grace reboot been an amazing revival for NBC and the LGBT community.

Take, for example, the clip from the latest season between Will and guest star Ben Platt:
Will: “My coming out was pretty typical - my mom cried, my dad drank…”

Ben: “I told my parents when I was 8. They both threw me a coming out party on the same weekend.”

Will: “That’s not a coming out story. How’s James Franco supposed to win an Oscar playing that???”

While it gets a good laugh, the brief scene combines comedy and light with a subject many experienced as painful.

The quick video tribute offers coming out moments from Will and Jack, as well as the infamous “television kiss” between the two dashing urbanites.

Eric McCormak (L) and Sean Hayes (R)

We’re also treated to moments of pride by parents on the show, something most of America had never seen before W&G.

And why? Because as Jack tells us, “That’s what we do in the community - we ‘gay it forward.’”

Because Pride Month isn't just about a party, or history, or a slogan.

“The minute you forget what we went through to get here, is the minute it could all be taken away.”

Well done, NBC.

Happy Pride, folks.

WILL & GRACE Creator Donates Copies Of Gay Bunny Book To Indiana School Libraries

Talk about a story with a "hoppy" ending!

Earlier this month, I reported that John Oliver, host of HBO's Last Week Tonight, announced his team had written and published A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo, a children's book spun from the news that Vice President Mike Pence's family had penned and illustrated their own children's book, Marlon Bundo's: A Day in the Life of the Vice President.

Jill Twiss, a writer on Oliver's Last Week Tonight show penned the charming book with illustrations by E.G. Keller.

Marlon Bundo is the actual pet rabbit of the Veep's daughter and both books follow Marlon as he hops around D.C.

But in the Last Week Tonight tome, Marlon Bundo falls in love with another male rabbit named Wesley, which probably irked the Veep as he's known for his notoriously anti-LGBT positions and policies.

The LWT book sold-out and became a #1 bestseller on Amazon.

But wait - there's more!

This week, Max Mutchnick, one of the creators of Will & Grace, has purchased and donated a copy of A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo to every elementary school in the Pence's home state of Indiana.

Along with the books, Mutchnik sent a letter which read, in part:

"I would like to donate this copy of A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo to your library. After hearing about the book, I brought it home and read it to my twin daughters. It's a poignant story about how love and community can rise above intolerance."

You can check out A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo on Amazon here. Maybe there's a child in your life that could benefit from some good, wholesome storytelling :)

I was blown away by the new John Oliver children’s book, “A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo.” With Easter upon us, I wanted to not only support the brilliance of John Oliver, but also celebrate the Gayest Bunny of Them All: The Easter Bunny. So I decided to buy a copy of Oliver’s “Bundo” (written by Jill Twiss) for every public grammar school in Indiana. All 1,121 of them. Here’s why: Mike Pence has had an enormous platform in Indiana, and as it relates to gay people, he’s used it to spread a message of intolerance. By donating these books, I hope to counter those efforts and provide positive role models and a story of inclusion for children in Pence’s home state. If this book can help one boy or girl in Indiana love and accept who they are, I know both Marlon Bundos would be proud—even though one of them is on the downlow.

"Will & Grace" Renewed For 3rd New Season

NBC announced during the Paley Center for Media’s Paleyfest in Los Angeles on Saturday that Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes will be back for a third new season of Will & Grace.

Additionally, the second season episode order for the reboot of the hit series has been upped from 13 episodes to 18.

“As far as I’m concerned, we can’t get enough of ‘Will & Grace’ and 23 more episodes is music to my ears,” NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement. “We’re eternally grateful that Debra, Eric, Sean and Megan feel the same way and wanted to keep this good thing going. I’m overwhelmed by the euphoric response the new show has received from the press and the audience, and my hat is off to the unrivaled writing team of Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, as well as the brilliant directing of Jimmy Burrows, for consistently delivering one of the best shows on television.”

Taking into account the series' original run of 8 seasons, this would now bring the sitcom to a total of 11 seasons.

And to think it all started with a surprise 10-minute election-themed mini-episode in fall 2016.

Watch Eric McCormack share the news live below:

Ellen And Sean Hayes Have A "Battle Of The Gays" Over Their Iconic TV Shows

Sean Hayes and Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres and Will & Grace star Sean Hayes found themselves in a "Battle of the Gays" while arguing about each of their iconic TV shows.

Hayes: “You’ve been on the air for 15 years.”

Ellen: “On this particular show yes, I’ve also done other things in the past. So, Will & Grace, how long now?”

Hayes: “Longer than 15..."

Ellen: “How long was it the first time around before y’all got canceled?”

Hayes: “I think it was longer than your sitcom.”

Ellen: “Yeah, that’s right. I had to come out first for y’all to do that sitcom. Go ahead.”

Very funny stuff. Watch below.

Teaser: Will & Grace "A Gay Ole Christmas" Special

Even though we have to wait until January 4 for a regular Thursday night episode of Will & Grace, NBC is "gracing" us with a special holiday episode on Tuesday, December 5.

Apparently, the fearsome foursome travel back in time to 1912 Manhattan.

Via TV Guide:

Will & Grace's "A Gay Olde Christmas," airing the first week of December, starts with Will (Eric McCormack), Grace (Debra Messing)), Karen's (Megan Mullally) and Jack (Sean Hayes) wishing they could experience the New York city of old, and then by the magic of TV, are transported to 1912 Manhattan via alter egos.

Will will become Billem Van Williams, a wealthy and worldly (read: probably gay) man with exquisite taste married to Fanny Van Williams, who'll bear an uncanny resemblance to Grace. Megan Mullally, meanwhile, is in an ironic role reversal as Karolyn O'Malley, a dirt poor woman living in a tenement; she takes in a sailor, John Patrick Mcgee (Sean Hayes) who has relationships with men only at sea. This is all right before World War I, a time of great prosperity — for some — and the episode will show how their disparate worlds intersect.

Additionally, there will be a subtle homage to Debbie Reynolds, who played Grace's mother during the original run of the show.

Will & Grace airs "A Gay Ole Christmas" Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 9/8c on NBC.
