Rick Santorum: These Kids Should Learn CPR Instead Of Protesting

Eternal douche nozzle Rick Santorum told a panel on CNN today that kids are "looking to someone else to solve their problem" when they should be taking individual action like "taking CPR classes."

It's worth noting that, while CPR is useful for heart stoppage, the shooting victim of an AR-15 with multiple holes ripped through their body would probably lose even more blood faster if someone started pumping on their heart.

In late February, during another panel discussion on CNN Santorum pointed to “broken homes without dads” as being something that is “common in these shootings.”

Host Jake Tapper pointed out a flaw in Santorum’s theory, as far as the Parkland shooting was concerned. “His dad had died,” Tapper told Santorum. “It wasn’t a ‘broken home.'”

#idiot

It's so strange to me that conservatives, who used to champion rising up and taking a stand, all seem so opposed to these students raising their voices.

Watch below.

Twitter jumped on the comment including Parkland senior Emma Gonzalez who trolled Santorum in righteous fashion:

Rick Santorum Endorses Marco Rubio, Can't Name One Of Rubio's "Accomplishments"

Truly cringe-worthy TV there.

Rick Santorum has gone from the guy who won the 2012 Iowa Caucuses to coming in next to last this year, to endorsing someone for president that he can't name ONE political accomplishment other than "winning a tough election."

Santorum made an appearance on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" to praise Rubio, but clearly left his talking points in the dressing room.

From Mediaite:

“What do you list as Marco Rubio’s top accomplishment?”.

What followed was a dizzying array of questionable sidesteps and half-answers from Santorum, who himself won the Iowa Caucus in 2012. To Scarborough’s question, Santorum meekly managed to say that Rubio, “[Won] a tough election in Florida, pull[ing] people together from a variety of spots.”

Scarborough wasn’t having it, and repeated the question multiple times while others on the Morning Joe panel laughed at the absurdity of the situation.

“He’s someone who brings people together!” Santorum admitted sheepishly.

“He’s been in the Senate four years. Can you name his top accomplishment?” pressed Scarborough once more.

Mika Brzezinski pushed the former Pennsylvania Senator further, leading him with “Jeb Bush ran Florida. Donald Trump built a company. Marco Rubio… finish the sentence.” Predictably, Santorum could not, though he maintained his smile throughout the brief interview.

Rick Santorum Drops Out Of GOP Race, Endorses Sen. Marco Rubio

Anti-LGBT Rick Santorum endorsing anti-LGBT Marco Rubio tells you everything you need to know about Marco Rubio.

Santorum is the third Republican candidate to quit suspend his campaign since Monday night's Iowa Caucuses.

Rick "Frothy Mix" Santorum Dropping His Presidential Bid

Virulently anti-gay, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick "Frothy Mix" Santorum will be announcing today that he is quitting suspending his presidential campaign after coming in 11th in the Republican Iowa Caucus Monday night.

From CNN:

Santorum won the 2012 Iowa caucuses and ended that race with the second-most number of delegates to eventually GOP nominee Mitt Romney. But he was unable to capture any momentum this year, despite extensive barnstorming efforts in Iowa.

He is the third Republican presidential candidate to drop out after Monday's caucuses. Mike Huckabee ended his campaign that night, and Rand Paul suspended his campaign Wednesday morning.

Rick Santorum Goes After Ted Cruz In New Campaign Ad

File this under "Infighting is fun" as former Sen. Rick Santorum goes after current front-runner in Iowa, Sen. Ted Cruz, for the Republican nomination in a new ad airing in the Hawkeye state.

From Politico:

"Ted Cruz is wonderful at reading children’s fairy tales on the Senate floor," the spot titled, appropriately, "Fairy Tales" begins, showing Cruz reading Dr. Seuss' "Green Eggs and Ham" during a filibuster on the Senate floor in 2013.

It then contrasts Cruz's conduct in the Senate with that of Santorum, who served from 1995 to 2007.

"Rick Santorum spent his time in the Senate a little differently," the narrator says. "Eight years on the Senate Armed Services Committee, helping to modernize today’s Army to better be prepared for today’s threats. Santorum also wrote and passed tough laws putting harsh sanctions on Iran."

Cruz went ballistic when a political cartoonist included his children in a recent cartoon after Cruz utilized his kids in an ad that aired during an episode of SNL.

I wonder how Cruz will take to the use of his kids here?

Rick Santorum: Equal Rights For LGBTs Could Make Kids Want To Be Transgender

Virulently anti-gay GOP White House hopeful Rick Santorum recently called in to The Steve Malzberg Show with the inane idea that LGBT rights bills could lead children to consider “maybe” becoming transgender - as if being trans is something one "becomes" rather than something one is.

“I don’t know why children at that age — why this is even an issue, the idea that we are introducing this type of real dangerous confusion for young people at this early age, do we really care about what we’re doing to millions of children who don’t have gender confusion and basically introducing the subject and saying, ‘maybe you should, maybe this is something you should start thinking about at age seven.’ I mean this is really dangerous and it’s going too far because it is having an impact on not just folks who may be in a difficult situation at an early age but many who would never have been in that situation but now are being confronted with it.”

My Favorite Rick Santorum Moment This Year

White House hopeful (oh my sides) Rick Santorum says the Pope should "leave the science to scientists" when it comes to discussing climate change.

Hey Rick - Pope Francis has a Master's Degree in Chemistry, thus, making him a scientist.

What's your basis for discussing the subject, Rick?

Marriage News Watch - June 15, 2015

From the American Foundation for Equal Rights:

With the Supreme Court due to rule on marriage any day now, Presidential "candidate" Rick Santorum says he would fight back against a pro-equality ruling. He says that states allowing gay and lesbian couples to marry is a violation of his religious freedom, which is an argument a lot people made about interracial marriage in the 60s.

So do couples need to worry about the possibility that Rick Santorum could stop them from marrying? No. For one thing, the president doesn't get to veto Supreme Court rulings.

And for another, Rick Santorum will never be president.

Rick Santorum Finds One Lone Attendee At Iowa Campaign Event

Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum arrived at an Iowa campaign event where he was greeted by just one lone face.

Via Raw Story:
The Des Moines Register reported that Santorum decided to order lunch when he saw that Audubon County Republican Party Chair Peggy Toft was his entire audience at a restaurant in Hamlin.

“I haven’t eaten, actually, all day,” the candidate told Toft.

By the time his meal of tenderloin and onion rings showed up, so had three other voters, according to the Register.

At a small table in the restaurant, Santorum explained to Pastor Glen Meyers and the other listeners that same-sex marriage was threat to the family and religious liberty.

“This is where the left is saying, ‘Here is what your belief system should be, and anyone who does not toe the line, you’re a hater, you’re a bigot, you’re intolerant and you will not be tolerated,'” he insisted.

Santorum said that low turnout was all part of his plan.

“People don’t understand. One guy in there said, ‘I’ll speak for you at the caucus,'” he remarked. “That’s maybe eight votes that you wouldn’t otherwise get. Eight votes can make a big difference, as I know.”

Rick Santorum: SCOTUS "Doesn't Have The Final Word" On Same-Sex Marriage

Speaking to Chuck Todd on NBC's "Meet The Press" Rick Santorum told Todd that the US Supreme Court "doesn't have the final word" on same-sex marriage.

Via NBC News:

When asked whether he would accept the Supreme Court's ruling if they legalize same-sex marriage later this year, he said he would "fight it."

"I think it's important to understand that the Supreme Court doesn't have the final word. It has its word. Its word has validity. But it's important for Congress and the president, frankly, to push back when the Supreme Court gets it wrong," said the presidential candidate on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday.

He went on to say that the country is not "bound by what nine people say in perpetuity" and that he's continued his fight against Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that affirmed a woman's right to an abortion, because he thinks "the court got it wrong."

When asked whether he thinks states should ignore the ruling if the Supreme Court does legalize same-sex marriage, Santorum responded, "I don't advocate civil disobedience. I do advocate the role of an informed citizen to try to overturn when a court makes a mistake and gets an issue wrong."

I can only imagine what Santorum would view as "push back" would be to pass an amendment to the Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.

Good luck with that one, Rick. Not gonna happen.

Rick Santorum Super-Cut Of Anti-LGBT Positions

In light of Rick Santorum's recent announcement regarding his run for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, HRC wanted to remind you of his virulently anti-gay positions on a host of issues including same-sex marriage, civil rights and more.

Rick Santorum Is Back In The Hunt

Rick Santorum, an uber-vocal advocate for conservative family values and longtime opponent of LGBT rights, began his 2016 White House bid on Wednesday, promising to fight for working-class Americans in a new election season that will see him find his footing in a different Republican Party.

The former Pennsylvania senator surprised many by scoring a second-place finish in the race for the Republican presidential nomination four years ago. But this time, he may not even make it to the debate podium as the most recent Fox News poll for GOP contenders puts him at only 2% or 12th on the crowded list of hopefuls.

“I am proud to stand here, among you and for you, the American workers who have sacrificed so much, to announce that I am running for president of the United States,” the 57-year-old senator said, flanked by factory workers and six of his seven children in a cinderblock warehouse near his western Pennsylvania hometown.

“The last race, we changed the debate. This race, with your help and God’s grace, we can change this nation.”

Rick Santorum On Bruce Jenner: "If He Says He's A Woman, He's A Woman"

Speaking at South Carolina's GOP convention today, former Sen. Rick Santorum surprises a bit on the topic of Bruce Jenner being transgender:

"If he says he’s a woman, then he’s a woman. My responsibility as a human being is to love and accept everybody. Not to criticize people for who they are.

"I can criticize, and I do, for what people do, for their behavior. But as far as for who they are, you have to respect everybody, and these are obviously complex issues for businesses, for society, and I think we have to look at it in a way that is compassionate and respectful of everybody.

"So these are tough issues. I haven’t got into the whole issue, and I don’t think the federal government should get into the whole issue of bathrooms. I think those are things that the business community and local agencies and organizations should deal with."

For The Record - Rick Santorum Would NOT Attend A Gay Wedding

Earlier this week, GOP candidate for president Sen. Marco Rubio said he would attend the gay wedding of a loved one or close friend, even though he doesn't agree with their "choice."

Calling into the Hugh Hewitt radio show, Rick "Frothy Mix" Santorum - who says he may also run for 2016 GOP nom - makes it clear he would NOT attend any gay wedding anywhere.

No way. No how. Uh-uh. Never.

Period.

Frothy Mix Will Run For GOP Nod In 2016

According to the Washington Post, former US Senator Rick Santorum will be in the hunt for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. However, Santorum says his second run for president will be retooled:

“America loves an underdog. We’re definitely the underdog in this race,” he said in an interview Tuesday. Santorum added that being underestimated — again — “has given me a lot of latitude.”

His iconic sweater vests will likely make a return appearance. But Santorum 2.0 will be a very different presidential campaign than the one that came from almost nowhere to win the Iowa caucuses in an overtime decision, he vows.

“I get the game,” Santorum said.

Anti-gay Rick Santorum says marriage equality "devalues" marriage

Former US Senator Rick Santorum

Right Wing Watch is reporting on a recent interview on the Eagle Forum Live radio show wherein former US senator and forever anti-gay Rick Santorum said that marriage equality "devalues" marriage:

The former senator and presidential candidate told host Anne Cori, Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly’s daughter, that supporters of marriage equality have “devalued marriage” and “divorced marriage from any meaning beyond a romantic relationship,” while Cori lamented the “celebration of single mothers.”

He also warned of polygamy: “If marriage is simply a romantic relationship between two people, and by the way, that’s what it’s devolved to the minds of a lot of Americans, if that’s all that marriage is well then it’s hard to make the argument that any two people or any three or four people shouldn’t be able to get married.”

Such an exciting candidate.

Rick Santorum at NOM's 2014 Anti-gay Hate Rally in Washington DC

While many GOP politicians are beginning to put some distance between themselves and publicly opposing same-sex marriage, Rick "Frothy Mix" Santorum certainly wasn't going to miss a chance to spout some anti-gay rhetoric at yesterday's hate rally sponsored by the National Organization for Marriage.

Where once there would have been many conservative politicians lining up to speak out against equal rights for the LGBT community, yesterday's epic fail of an event in Washington DC only saw the barest handful show up.  Billed as a kind of "national event," the rally turned out only about 2,000 attendees.

Watch Frothy Mix tick off his usual reasons why the gays shouldn't marry, including the mystifying idea that same-sex marriage is bad for the economy, when study after study shows gay marriage adds millions to states economies as states have seen the freedom to marry become legal across the country.
