Supercut Video Contrasts Fox News Hypocrisy In Treatment Of Michelle Obama Vs Melania Trump

The folks at NowThis share this video compilation contrasting how differently the folks at Fox News treat First Lady Melania Trump versus her predecessor, Michelle Obama.

The folks at NowThis share this video compilation contrasting how differently the folks at Fox News treat First Lady Melania Trump versus her predecessor, Michelle Obama.

Even on similar subjects, the treatment is shockingly different.

When Michelle opted to encourage kids to eat better, it was called the "nanny state."

But when Melania launched her 'BeBest' campaign asking kids to stop bullying, she's a saint.

There's much, much more.

Hit the play button - you'll see.

Asked About Melania Trump's Fashion, Vogue's Anna Wintour Gushes About Michelle Obama

First Lady Melania Trump (L), Anna Wintour (R)

In an interview with Anne McElvoy for The Economist's podcast, legendary fashion guru and editor-in-chief for Vogue Magazine, Anna Wintour, threw serious shade at First Lady Melania Trump in the most finessed manner you can imagine.

Sometimes, not saying anything at all is the purest form of shade.

In a discussion about Donald and Melania Trump’s sense of fashion, McElvoy notes the Donald’s often “ill-fitting suits and strange trousers and red baseball caps,” but then pivoted to Melania.

“Melania is much more put together,” said McElvoy. “She did come to the UK and I think very consciously wanted to see herself as an ambassador for British fashion in this case, or a transatlantic ambassador. Do you value that?”

“Well,” began Wintour, “I think First Lady Michelle Obama was really so incredible in every decision she made about fashion. She supported young American designers. She supported designers, indeed, from all over the world. She was the best ambassador this country could possibly have, in many ways, obviously way beyond fashion…”

And at that point McElvoy interrupted to bring the discussion back to Melania. “But she’s not the First Lady now - what about the one you have now?”

"...beyond fashion, and for me, she is the example I admire,” continued Wintour, putting a period on her thoughts.

Earlier in the chat McElvoy noted that the Trumps don’t seem to make the pages of Vogue Magazine, and the journalist wondered if that might be “a conscious decision?”

Wintour responded, “There’s so many women in politics that deserve celebration, whether it’s Kirsten (Gillibrand) or Senator Harris, or Senator Warren.”

See what she did there?

“We just recently ran a piece in our current issue about five of the six political female candidates, all of which I felt deserved a place in Vogue,” she continued. “And how wonderful that after a lot of naysayers saying that after (Hillary Clinton) not succeeding that it would be very difficult to find a voice in the current presidential campaigns. How wonderful that that is not the case.”

“I think that both Senator Warren and Senator Harris are among the top candidates right now,” added the woman who provided the inspiration for Meryl Streep’s ‘Miranda Priestly’ in The Devil Wears Prada.

Realizing her question had been sidelined, McElvoy circled back a few minutes later.

“We just glided, or perhaps it’s clear, I don’t know, past the question of Melania and where she features in Vogue world,” said McElvoy. “Do you feel that she’s not the right person to feature in the magazine?”

“I think it’s important for Vogue to support women who are leading change in this country,” answered Wintour.

And, scene.

Twitter Thought Designer Tom Ford Trolled Melania Trump

Twitter lost its mind this morning when a quote attributed to fashion designer Tom Ford began to circulate wherein he reportedly referred to First Lady Melania Trump as a “glorified escort.” Slow your roll, Twitter - Tom Terrific never threw that shade.
Tom Ford and First Lady Melania Trump

Twitter lost its mind this morning when a quote attributed to fashion designer Tom Ford began to circulate wherein he reportedly referred to First Lady Melania Trump as a “glorified escort.”

Slow your roll, Twitter - Tom Terrific never threw that shade.

The quote that went viral was in reference to the designer refusing to dress the First Lady.

“I have no interest in dressing a glorified escort who steals speeches and has bad taste in men,” is how the quote read, but, no source was attributed.

The comment was probably somewhat believable in that Ford did say during a November 2016 appearance on The View that he had ‘declined’ to dress her some years before explaining, “She’s not necessarily my image.”

He went on to add that he felt his clothes were “too expensive” for a First Lady as he believed the wife of a president has to “relate to everybody.”

But no - Tom didn’t call Melania a “glorified escort.”

But ’Tom Ford’ was trending on Twitter anyway with Trump supporters calling for a boycott of all things Tom Ford.

And that’s where it got pretty funny.

Melania Trump Has Deputy National Security Adviser Fired

Melania Trump

Have you ever heard the sage advice that you should never get in a spat with the boss's wife?

Enter Deputy National Security Adviser Mira Ricardel, who after a series of run-ins with the First Lady's office, is now being shown the door.

Apparently, the straw that broke the camel's back Ricardel getting upset when First Lady’s team didn’t have room for her on the plane for Africa, and tried to block NSC resources for the trip.

Chief of Staff John Kelly eventually intervened on the First Lady's behalf.

Stephanie Grisham, the First Lady’s communications director, issued a sharply worded statement on Tuesday expressing displeasure.

“It is the position of the Office of the First Lady that she no longer deserves the honor of serving in this White House,” Grisham said.

It’s an extraordinary move for the First Lady's office to publicly call for the firing of a National Security Council official.

Ricardel has been on the job since April. So, this was a pretty long tenure for a Trump administration official.

The Washington Post does report that Ricardel has had several clashes with past and current White House officials.

Randy Rainbow Sends Up First Lady's Hypocritical Initiative "Just Be Best!"

With lightning speed, political satirist Randy Rainbow delivers another winning parody with his take on the Beauty and the Beast showstopper, "Be Our Guest."

With lightning speed, political satirist Randy Rainbow delivers another winning parody with his take on the Beauty and the Beast showstopper, "Be Our Guest."

Rainbow's version, "Just Be Best," is a riff on First Lady Melania Trump's ironic anti-bullying initiative #BeBest.

Just be best, just be best,
Just be better than the rest,
Put your shiny new self-righteous phony slogan to the test

Last week, in an interview with ABC News, Melania told the world she feels that she is "one of" the most bullied people in the world.

Really...?

First Lady Melania Trump Admits Message Behind Infamous "I Really Don't Care" Jacket

First Lady Melania Trump
In June this year, First Lady Melania Trump's communications director, Stephanie Grisham, told CNN about the now-infamous "I Really Don't Care" jacket:

"It's a jacket. There was no hidden message. After today's important visit to Texas, I hope the media isn't going to choose to focus on her wardrobe."

In an interview tonight, Melania Trump contradicted her own comm director telling Tom Llamas of ABC News she wore the jacket, “For the people and for the left-wing media who are criticizing me. And I want to show them that I don’t care.”

Melania Trump: "I'm The Most Bullied Person In The World"

In a newly released interview excerpt of First Lady Melania Trump speaking to ABC News reporter Tom Llamas (set to air on Friday), she defends her work with her 'Be Best' anti-bullying initiative saying she sees herself as a victim of bullying.

Yes, the wife of one of the world's richest men and president of the United States feels she is one of the most bullied people in the world.

Are you f*cking kidding me???

In the clip, she shares, “I could say I’m the most bullied person in the world. One of them — if you really see what people [are] saying about me.”

It is stunning to read this as the world recognizes National Coming Out Day. A day when so many closeted LGBTQ people of all ages stand up to be their authentic selves even in the face of brutal physical and emotional bullying.

And the First Lady says she's "the most bullied person in the world?" Who or how is she so powerfully bullied? Folks tweet mean things at her?

Normally I leave the family members of politicians alone, but this is really ridiculous.

I've seen bullying in my time. Trust me, a few mean tweets are nothing to being stalked in high school, threatened verbally on a daily basis and physically attacked in front of your classmates.

The citizens of the Twitterverse were none too taken with Ms. Trump's woe-is-me act.

First Lady Wears "I Don't Really Care, Do U?" Jacket Traveling To Visit Immigrant Children

File this under "You can't make this shit up:"

According to several reports and photos, First Lady Melania Trump boarded her plane to travel visit children separated from their parents at the U.S. southern border wearing a jacket that read on the back, "I don't really care, do u?"

Did I mention the weather was 85 degrees and humid in Washington, D.C. today? Hardly 'jacket weather.'

By the time the plane landed, the First Lady had done a costume change.

It's not known if the change was planned or if someone pointed out the unfortunate messaging.

It's notable that the First Lady was scheduled to visit TWO shelters - an HHS shelter that she made it to, and one of the shelters holding children in those now-infamous 'cages.'

She didn't make it to the second. Quel surprise.

UPDATE: The First Lady's spokesperson, Stephanie Grisham, told CNN's Jim Acosta, "It's a jacket. There was no hidden message. After today's important visit to Texas, I hope the media isn't going to choose to focus on her wardrobe."

But then the Trumpster himself had to step in it and say the exact opposite - that there was, in fact, a hidden meaning.

President Trump tweeted: "I REALLY DON'T CARE, DO U?" written on the back of Melania's jacket, refers to the Fake News Media. Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!"

As reporter Amy Siskind points out, Donald Trump was unable to attend to Melania due to "his busy Monday schedule."

First Lady Melania Trump Reportedly "Furious" For Blindside Regarding Alleged Stormy Daniels Affair With Donald Trump

First Lady Melania Trump
First Lady Melania Trump

According to The New York Times, First Lady Melania Trump was furious about being blindsided by the news of porn star Stormy Daniels alleged payoff to remain quiet about an affair with Donald Trump in 2006.

Mrs. Trump and the president have had a tumultuous relationship at times over the years, but few episodes have roiled the peace as much as the news surrounding Ms. Daniels. The reports of a payoff blindsided the first lady, who was furious with her husband, according to two people close to the couple. She has kept a low profile since.

On Tuesday, Mrs. Trump is expected to resurface. The White House said that she would attend Mr. Trump’s State of the Union address, typically the most high-profile appearance of the year for first ladies. The East Wing, which has vacillated between being forceful or unresponsive in recent weeks, gave a tentative confirmation on Monday: “That is the plan,” her spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, said an email. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, said that Mrs. Trump would attend, but that Barron would not.

Melania quite publicly canceled attending the Davos conference with her hubs, visited the Holocaust Memorial Museum and flew to Mar-a-Lago by herself.

Folks made note of the fact that the First Lady issued a celebratory tweet on the anniversary of her husband's inauguration that didn't mention him or show him in the attached photo.

James Corden's Perfect Melania Trump Parody of "Part Of Your World"

James Corden parodies "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid reimagined as a lonely, White House-bound Melania Trump.

I've got diamonds and purses aplenty,
I've got Donald's hair pieces galore,
You want red hats? I've got twenty.
But who cares? No big deal, I want more.

Out where they walk, out where they run
Out where they don't collude with Russians,
Wandering free, wish I could be part of that world...

Perfection.

Viral Video: Melania Slaps Donald Trump's Hand Away At Israel Arrival

Silent moments between Donald and Melania Trump have made social media tongues wag over the past few months, from Melania's Inauguration Day frown to her National Anthem nudge.

Add to the list what appears to be Melania slapping the Donald's hand away seeming to refuse to hold his hand as they arrived in Tel Aviv today.

Silly little social media things here and there, but after a while you have to wonder what is going on behind the scenes of the Trump marriage.

Watch below.

Bill Clinton & Melania Trump Will Not Cross Paths Before Tonight's Presidential Debate

According to the New York Times, the spouses and children of the two presidential candidates will not cross paths as they enter the third and final debate tonight in Las Vegas.

You'll remember at the last debate, the Trump campaign attempted to seat past accusers of Bill Clinton in the Trump family VIP seating meaning he would have been face to face with the women at the top of the evening.

The Clinton side is not taking any chances at the final presidential debate, on Wednesday night in Las Vegas, and has apparently gained approval of a different protocol for the entry of the candidates’ spouses and families into the debate hall.

The new arrangement calls for the candidates’ spouses to enter the hall closer to their seats, rather than crossing the room, and each other’s paths. That would avoid any potential for confrontations, given Mr. Trump’s penchant for dramatic stunts.

On Tuesday, an aide to Mrs. Clinton declined to comment on the change, and aides to Mr. Trump did not respond to an email seeking comment. It is possible, of course, that further negotiations could result in a different arrangement, if both sides agree, by the time the debate begins at 9 p.m. Eastern.

But the unease over how the candidates’ families interact echoes that of the candidates themselves. At the debate in St. Louis, in a striking departure from tradition, Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Trump did not shake hands at the start, though they did at the conclusion of the 90 minutes.

Melania Trump: Billy Bush "Egged" My Husband On To Say "Inappropriate" Comments

After spending months attacking the "biased" mainstream media, it is interesting that Donald Trump dispatched his wife, Melania, to do a one on one interview with Anderson Cooper of CNN.

I guess he knows where the audience is.

Melania Trump says her husband was “egged on” in the 2005 tape in which he made lewd comments about his own sexually aggressive behavior toward women — remarks she says were “boy talk.”

“I said to my husband that, you know, the language was inappropriate. It’s not acceptable. And I was surprised, because that is not the man that I know,” the wife of the Republican presidential nominee said in an exclusive interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, which is set to air at 8 p.m. ET Monday.

“And as you can see from the tape, the cameras were not on — it was only a mic. And I wonder if they even knew that the mic was on,” she said, referring to Trump and NBC’s “Access Hollywood” host Billy Bush. She said they were engaged in “boy talk, and he was led on — like, egged on — from the host to say dirty and bad stuff.”

I'm not sure exactly how to take that "egged on" comment. Does that mean that a 59 year old Donald Trump was too weak willed to be his own man? That Billy Bush was the "alpha" and Trump the "beta?"

If you can't handle yourself against the mental machinations of Billy Bush, how are you going to stand up to the leaders of foreign nations?

White House On Melania Speech Debacle: "The Country's Got A Lot Of Common Ground"

White House spokesman Josh Earnest was asked about the Melania Trump speech debacle at today's White House press briefing and he had this to say:
“Obviously in 2008, Mrs. Obama spoke movingly in her own words about her life story, her values,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters. “I’m confident that in the future, aspiring first ladies or potential first husbands would draw on the same kinds of sentiments to advocate for their spouse.”

He added that the fact that Melania Trump received "such a strong review of her speech based on reflection of the same kinds of values that were included in Mrs. Obama's speech ... is an indication that the country's got a lot of common ground, even in spite of the political divisions that are on display at the convention."

Classy way to handle it.
