Performance: Heather Headley "I Will Always Love You"

Heather Headley singing "I Will Always Love You"

Yesterday, I posted a Facebook video from Tony and Grammy Award winner Heather Headley singing "One Moment In Time" with her son.

It put me on a YouTube tear through several videos featuring the uber-talented actress and singer. So, today I figured I would feature another performance by Headley. This one from the annual Royal Variety Performance in 2012 during her year starring in the musical The Bodyguard in London.

Not only gorgeous, but she makes the song a bit her own. Not necessarily a copy of Whitney's version.

Happy Saturday!

Viral Video: Heather Headley "One Moment In Time"

The divine Tony and Grammy Award-winner Heather Headley shared this #TBT yesterday from her year in London in 2013 starring in the stage musical adaptation of the Whitney Houston hit film "The Bodyguard."

(Headley received stellar reviews while the show, unfortunately, did not.)

One day, Headley's son came to visit rehearsals, and someone shot this video while Headley rehearsed "One Moment In Time." The juxtaposition of the inspiring lyrics and soaring melody, initially written for the Olympics, as Headley holds her son's hand having a truly beautiful "moment in time" is truly touching.

Watch and listen below. Make sure you hit the button for full screen to really enjoy.

"Heavy" from Dreamgirls Concert 2001 - Audra McDonald, Lilias White and Heather Headley

The original cast of Dreamgirls was the best Broadway show I ever saw.

This concert in 2001 - also starring Billy Porter ("Jimmy Early") and Norm Lewis ("Curtis") - was a fantastic 'dream cast' event.

I just found this clip on youtube. All three ladies are fantastic to begin with, and then there's the terrific material.

Enjoy!
