Bryan Fischer wishes the US had Russian-style anti-gay laws

Bryan Fischer continues to complain that the United States does not have Russian-style anti-gay "propaganda" laws. In fact, Fischer lauds Russian President Putin as "the lion of Christianity" for leading his nation's crackdown on gays.

On yesterday's radio broadcast, Fischer again voiced his support for implementing such laws in America, declaring that it is "inexcusable" that these sorts of laws are not being put into place here.

"That's a policy we ought to have in the United States," he said of the Russian laws. "It's inexcusable that we allow vulnerable, innocent young children to be indoctrinated, brainwashed, propagandized into thinking that homosexual conduct is perfectly normal and absolutely benign behavior when it absolutely is not":

I want to point out that the kind of activities Fischer is talking about - "indoctrinating," "brainwashing," "propagandizing" - in Russia, includes merely carrying a rainbow flag, or holding your partner's hand.

The anti-gay laws in Russia have emboldened anti-gay vigilantes to literally hunt down gays and lesbians, all for the crime of holding someone's hand.

Those are the kinds of activities and laws Bryan Fischer supports.

American Family Association spokesman: The poor should be "kissing the ground" that the rich walk on

Right Wing Watch points out this little moment from Bryan Fischer's radio show this week:

"So rather than the poor, the low-income, and the middle class being resentful of [the rich], they should be kissing the ground on which they walk. Who’s paying for the EBT cards? Who’s paying for food stamps? Who’s paying for the women and infant children program? Who’s paying for subsidized housing? Who’s paying for Medicaid? It is the top 1% So they ought to be given ticker tape parades once a week in all of our major cities to thank them for funding welfare for everybody."

Bryan Fischer segues from the Inaugural to attacking gays "right to sodomy"

I give you Bryan Fischer of the virulently anti-gay American Family Association.

I love that Fischer brings up the fact that sodomy was outlawed for 200 years. Slavery was legal for hundreds of years, but we finally stopped that. Women couldn't vote for hundreds of years - that wrong was righted. Do I really need to explain again how society evolves?

What happens in the bedroom of two consenting adults is a matter of privacy. And the Supreme Court has ruled on the right of privacy. And it's a pretty common sense issue at that.

In case you ever wonder why I write and post so much about marriage equality and equal rights, here's what the LGBT community deals with every day of our lives.

Many people may not be aware that this kind of propaganda happens every single day in the world.

So, if you ever wonder why I'm so adamant about equality for all, watch this video and realize that this is what gays and lesbians have to cope with all the time.

GAP under attack by One Million Moms for billboard featuring handsome men

One Million Moms - an offshoot group of the conservative American Family Association that actually is only 40,000 - is all mad about a GAP billboard in Los Angeles  featuring a gay couple.

Writes the group:

Speaking of companies who are choosing to be politically correct instead of focusing on selling clothes; GAP is also guilty. In Los Angeles, CA, GAP has a billboard located downtown that reads: "GAP- BE BRIGHT- BE ONE" with two homosexual men pressed together under a shared t-shirt. They are hugging each other and facing the camera cheek-to-cheek. "BE ONE" is in large letters which emphasizes the same-sex relationship.

GAP Inc. Brands, including Old Navy, Banana Republic, Piperlime, and Athleta, does not deserve, nor will it get, money from conservative families across the country. Supporting GAP is not an option until they decide to remain neutral in the culture war. GAP needs to seriously consider how their immoral advertising affect the youth of our nation.

Christians should urge for the removal of GAP's offensive billboard in Los Angeles and any other city where it is located. GAP will also need to cancel any plans to use the "Be One" ad campaign elsewhere including store-front posters, its website, and in print magazine ads.
