DC's Metro system reported on Twitter that ridership was 275,000 as of 11 a.m. on Saturday as folks headed to the Women's March on Washington (more than eight times normal), while only 193,000 riders were counted at the same time on Friday:
Metro Ridership as of 11am: 275k. For comparison, that's more than 8x a normal Sat & even busier than most weekdays. #wmata #womensmarch— Metro (@wmata) January 21, 2017
Metro Ridership: As of 11am, 193k trips taken so far today. (11am 1/20/13 = 317k, 11am 1/20/09 = 513k, 11am 1/20/05 = 197k) #wmata— Metro (@wmata) January 20, 2017
Additionally, according to a District of Columbia official, it looks like more than half a million people showed up on the National Mall today for the March. Meanwhile, it's estimated that only 250,000 attended the inauguration.
While Trump's camp is apparently blaming the weather, it's notable that in 2009 the temperature was a balmy 28 degrees.
Meanwhile, Trump's aides are now apparently setting up blown up photos of the crowds in the White House briefing room in anticipation of some kind of push-back on the crowd sizes:

In addition to the attendance in Washington, it's estimated that 2.5 million took part in the Women's March at "sister marches" across the U.S. and around the world:
