Hillary Clinton Leads Trump 7 Points In Post-Democratic Convention Bounce
According to the newly released CBS News poll taken directly after the close of the 2016 Democratic National Convention, Hillary Clinton has gained a 7 point lead in the presidential race over Republican Donald Trump.
The poll had shown the two tied at 42% each after the prior week in the wake of the Republican Convention, but clearly the DNC was a help to the former Secretary of State.
Additionally, Clinton saw a rise in her favorability numbers jumping 5 points from 31% to 36% viewing Clinton in a favorable light. Here unfavorables dropped 6 points, from 56% to 50%.
The same poll showed 52% of registered voters see Donald Trump unfavorably, and 31% favorably.
