Dallas morning show co-host Amy Kushnir storms off set mid-segment

Courtney Kerr (L) and Amy Kushnir (R)

The chat got heated on Dallas' "The Broadcast" yesterday when co-host Amy Kushnir got so upset over Michael Sam's "draft kiss" that she stormed off the set in mid-segment. What a real pro.

Said Kushnir, before stomping off:

"When parents do not have a choice about whether or not they want their children to see this, it is wrong...I don't call it a moment of celebration...It's being pushed in faces. I don't want to see that. I don't want to see cake in your face, kissing each other."

[snip]

"Here's the thing. ESPN would not have aired any of it had he been kissing his wife."

The usual cries of gays "shoving it in my face" make their appearance. If the sentiments weren't so icky, this would be funny.

Note that Kushnir says she doesn't like to see public displays of affection. THAT's what bothered her. But - check out the main image on her Facebook page.  Why, is that a public display of affection?  Is she kissing someone and "shoving it down our throats?" Truth be told, what Ms. Kushnir doesn't like are PDAs between the gays.

  1. I'm proud of Amy Kushnir for her prudent courage with which she left the set. The professional athlete could have hugged his friend to avoid the controversy the kiss has caused. I also believe that public signs of homosexual affection are immoral.

  2. There was nothing courageous about walking off the set because others were not agreeing with her and pointing out that her "reasoning" made no sense. It was something an insolent child would do, not a "professional". It actually made me laugh at her. Now to the subject of the conversation. I am so happy that Dale Hansen will be seen by more people because this went viral (she even made a snide comment about him). Other draft picks kissed their significant others. There is nothing immoral about love. Just because a minority of bigoted people have a problem doesn't mean everyone does. Turn the channel! Now to the older woman's comment, no one is taking anyones free of speech away. You can say (or post) whatever you want but as explained to her, if you work or are a part of an organization that has rules of conduct you must abide by them. So enough with the "they're taking away my freedom of speech." That is just NOT TRUE. I know change is scary for some but it is time to evolve and live in love not hate (or ignorance).

  3. Bravo, Jennifer! For some reason, people get very confused that "freedom of speech" means "freedom of speech without consequences" - and clearly they need to learn that. And on the subject of Sam kissing his bf, what should he have done in the huge "life moment?" Shook his bf's hand? Please....
