Sign of the day: Yeah Yeah Yeahs have had enough of smart phone video at their concerts

A major pet peeve of mine has been the exponentially exploding practice of concert goers holding their smart phones up - often the entire concert - to video record the show.

Apparently, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have had enough of it too.  The above sign was posted at the band's appearance at Webster Hall a few nights ago.

From Spin:
Karen O reiterated the band's request at the top of the second song (an incredible rendition of Show Your Bones' "Gold Lion"), telling the crowd to snap away as much as they liked for the next few minutes, but then "put those motherfuckers away."
Spin tweeted out a pic of the sign and response was huge, and very supportive.

A few months ago, I sat behind some idiot at a concert who held their iPad -  a big-ass iPad! - up in the air blocking my view, so she could record the show.

Meanwhile, NO ONE who's doing that is getting anything for their money.  They've paid to attend a concert they are watching through a small camera screen.  They get home and all they've got is crappy footage.

AND they are ruining the music experience for those around them.

Bravo to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
