Female Comedians Pay Tribute to Phyllis Diller

Growing up my best friend had one of Phyllis Diller's comedy albums and it was one of the funniest things I ever heard - to this day. We would listen over and over, and every time it made us laugh.

Her laugh, how she made fun of housework, Fang,... everything.

One of the few people that deserve the title "legend."

  1. I had the pleasure of working with Phyllis Diller at the Valley Music Hall in Salt Lake City. I was the Stage Manager at that time. She was on a bill with the Osmond Brothers (local favorites at the time and a big hit from the Andy Williams show.) The engagement was a full week.

Gov. George Romney (father of Mitt Romney) gave a holiday reception for the performers and staff at the Mansion in SLC. When Phyllis made her entrance, she was introduced to the Governor, and said, "Hi, Gov, didn't recognize you with your clothes on"! She was an amazing artist and I treasure this memory. Thanks for posting Randy!

  2. Thank you Brian for sharing the memory. I love hearing that our legends live up to their reputations. How fantastic that we get to encounter these great talents on our journeys. :)
