"Alaska is dealing with a record heat wave right now and everyone is doing what they can to stay cool. Even the wildlife.

"This moose was just chilling under a sprinkler after sprinkler hopping from yard to yard before finally settling down for a good soak.

"High temperatures will continue to take a run at 90 degrees. Normal temps this time of a year in anchorage are in the mid 60's."

Woman Climbs Over Barrier For Selfie With Jaguar In Zoo - Any Guesses What Happened?

According to the Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium and Safari Park in Arizona, a woman crawled over a barrier to get a selfie with a jaguar.

In doing so, the jaguar attacked the woman leaving her with serious injuries to her arm.

Fortunately, the zoo assures nothing will happen to the jaguar.

"We can promise you nothing will happen to our jaguar," tweeted the zoo. "She’s a wild animal and there were proper barriers in place to keep our guests safe - not a wild animals fault when barriers are crossed. Still sending prayers to her and her family."

The jaguar should sue the woman for home invasion. #TeamJaguar

Family Barely Escapes Becoming Cheetah Chow In Wildlife Safari Park

OMG. The most intense video featuring stupid people I've seen in a long time.

This is why you don't get out of your car at a wildlife park.

This family decided to get out and take pics at the Beekse Bergen safari park in the Netherlands.

WITH three cheetahs lounging just yards away.

Eventually the big cats noticed the uninvited guests in their home and moved to investigate.

That's when the fur flies.

By the way, you'd think the guys who were filming this might have given a shoutout along the way like "Hey, the cats are coming!"

Cincinnati: Zoo Staff Shoots Gorilla After 4-Year-Old Enters Gorilla Habitat

According to the zoo staff, a tranquilizer dart would not have taken effect immediately. And the gorilla, in an agitated state, could lash out at the nearest thing to him in defense, which might have been the little boy.

Zoo experts across the country acknowledge the gorilla was at no fault in the incident. But, in considering the risk of harm to the little boy, most experts feel the right decision was made.

Witnesses says they overheard the boy repeatedly saying he wanted to go into the gorilla habitat, and his mother kept telling him 'no.'

How hideous that a mistake by this little boy - or perhaps his mother who clearly wasn't watching her child closely enough - resulted in the gorilla losing his life.

I think squirrels are super interesting critters! And they're so adaptable! I'm Examining a wildlife squirrel brought in by a Good Samaritan. This IS NOT how I recommend handling wildlife and it is not a good sign that this poor kiddo is so content in my hands. Healthy wildlife patients are aggressive and dangerous as they should be. Please do not attempt to handle Wildife and be very careful even with sick and debilitated individuals. Baby Elephants In The Pool

From the Houston Zoo:

Baylor (weighs more than 1100 pounds) and Tupelo (weighs more than 600 pounds) now get a family size pool which is 120 inches in length and holds both calves. It is a lot more durable. Apparently, the calves more "baby" sized pool would only last about five minutes before popping.

This size pool lasts for about 5 uses before it has to be replaced. Playing in the pool is a fun enrichment activity for the babies and the pool is given to them when the weather allows. Pool time is unannounced and unplanned.
