Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead - Sarah Huckabee Sanders Announces White House Departure

Donald Trump tweeted today that White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will depart the White House at the end of June and return to her home state of Arkansas.

Donald Trump tweeted today that White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will depart the White House at the end of June and return to her home state of Arkansas.

Sanders has defended Trump's obvious lies since 2016. Out of frustration, she basically ended the practice of holding White House press briefings.

The reaction from the Twitterverse was exactly what you'd expect:

White House Still Silent On 'Domestic Terrorist' Paul Hasson

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters today that Trump is "typically one of the first" to condemn stories like Hasson's.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders
From The New York Times:
A Coast Guard lieutenant and self-described white nationalist who was arrested in Maryland last week was plotting to kill a long list of prominent journalists and Democratic politicians, as well as professors, judges and what he called “leftists in general,” federal prosecutors said in a court filing on Tuesday.

Lt. Christopher Paul Hasson, 49, was arrested Friday on gun and drug charges, but prosecutors said in the filing that those charges were just the “proverbial tip of the iceberg.”

The filing argued that Lieutenant Hasson should be held until he is tried, describing him as a “domestic terrorist” who intended “to murder innocent civilians on a scale rarely seen in this country.”

In the last month, prosecutors said, the lieutenant used his work computer to draw up a list of prominent figures he called “traitors” and wanted to kill, including many well-known anchors and hosts on the CNN and MSNBC news networks and a number of Democratic elected officials. The list included, among others, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Maxine Waters, Senator Richard Blumenthal, whom he referred to as “Sen blumen jew,” and many of the senators running for president in 2020.

While Donald Trump was quick to comment on the charges against Empire star Jussie Smollett, he has yet to comment on Hasson.

Is that because Hasson was plotting against Trump's political foes? Or because he's a supporter of the Donald?

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters today that Trump is "typically one of the first" to condemn stories like Hasson's.

“The president hasn’t at any point has done anything but condemn violence, against journalists or anyone else. In fact, every single time something like this happens, the president is typically one of the first people to condemn the violence and the media is the first people to condemn the president.”

And yet, days after this news broke, he hasn't.

White House Says It's 'Absurd' That Trump Encourages Violence At His Rallies

In the aftermath of a Trump supporter violently attacking BBC cameraman Ron Skeans at Donald Trump's El Paso rally this week, White House press secretary raised some eyebrows during an interview with Fox & Friends as she defended the president.

In the aftermath of a Trump supporter violently attacking BBC cameraman Ron Skeans at Donald Trump's El Paso rally this week, White House press secretary raised some eyebrows during an interview with Fox & Friends as she defended the president.

“The idea that the president or anybody on his team or in his administration would encourage violence is absolutely absurd,” Sanders said. “The president stopped, asked and made sure everyone was okay before continuing on with the event. Certainly, we condemn violence in any form against anyone, and that certainly includes the press.”

As we all know, on several occasions, Trump has called for his supporters to address detractors with violence.

He has suggested "Maybe he should have been roughed up," offered to pay the legal fees of supporters who "knock the crap" out of a protester, and even said himself, "I'd like to punch him in the face" regarding another protester.

Mediaite has much more of the Trumpster's history of violent histrionics here.

Fox News Fact Checks Sarah Huckabee Sanders On Bogus 'Terrorists Coming Across Mexican Border' Lie

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders found out today what it's like to be interviewed by a journalist who's done his homework.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders found out today what it's like to be interviewed by a journalist who's done his homework.

In an interview with Fox News' Chris Wallace, Sanders attempted to push the false claim about terrorists being caught at the southern border on Fox News Sunday, but Chris Wallace just happened to have the facts at hand.

“I know the statistic, I didn’t know if you were going to use it, but I studied up on this,” Wallace said. “Do you know what those 4,000 people come where they are captured? Airports.”

“Not always,” Sanders tried.

“Airports. The state department says there hasn’t been any terrorists found coming across the southern border,” continued Wallace. “But they’re not coming across the southern border, Sarah, they’re coming and they’re being stopped at airports.”

“They’re coming a number of ways, they’re certainly, I’m not disagreeing with you that they’re coming through airports,” lamely offered Sanders.

You have to wonder how different would the state of the nation be if every journalist was prepared with facts when interviewing politicians?

SNL: The Only Sleep Aid Strong Enough For Sarah Huckabee Sanders

Andy Bryant as "Sarah Huckabee Sanders"
I meant to post this spoof ad from this weekend's Saturday Night Live yesterday.

The folks at SNL have been wondering how White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders manages to sleep at night after sharing lie after lie in defense of Donald Trump.

The answer, it seems, is “HuckaPM,” an over the counter sleep-aid that contains "Melatonin, Extra Strength Quaaludes, and what Michael Jackson’s doctor called 'One and Dones.'"

Props to Aidy Bryant for her excellent physical comedy here.

WH Press Secretary Delivers Podium Rant Then Storms Out Of Press Briefing

Sarah Huckabee Sanders

After fielding questions regarding whether Donald Trump is responsible to some degree for inspiring disturbed people to send pipe bombs or shoot up a Pittsburgh synagogue, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders went on a lengthy tirade from the podium today.

Sanders told reporters "it would be nice if every once in a while we could focus on a few of the positive things the President has done instead of just attacking him."

Sanders also erroneously declared that Trump had won the election "with an overwhelming majority of 63 million people." As has been pointed out many times, Hillary Clinton beat Trump in the popular vote by millions.

She ended the rant by abruptly closing her notes and leaving the room. Watch below.

Sanders defended Trump saying at one point that "the president is not placing blame," and yet this morning he tweeted a new attack on the press:

WH Press Secretary Dodges Question On The Press Being "The Enemy Of The People"

At a White House press briefing, CNN's Jim Acosta repeatedly asked White House press secretary Sarah Sanders to say the press isn't the enemy of the American people. She didn't.

"I'm tired of this. It is not right," Acosta said afterward, expressing frustration after days of tense anti-press rhetoric. "It is not fair. It is not just. It is un-American to come out here and call the press the enemy of the people. And Ivanka Trump knows that. I don't know why her father doesn't."

WH

Acosta followed up with his thoughts later on CNN:

Sarah Huckabee Sanders Unwelcome At Virginia Restaurant

Joyless wonder and White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders left a Virginia restaurant when it was made clear she wasn't welcome in the establishment due to the owner's 'moral convictions'

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave a restaurant in Virginia Friday night when the owner apparently decided he didn't want to serve her party out of "moral conviction."

The news was shared in a Facebook post by the waiter from The Red Hen who shared, "I just served Sarah huckabee sanders for a total of 2 minutes before my owner asked her to leave and she complied. Her family left on their own accord, we didn't actually refuse service or 'kick her out.'"

Sanders tweeted the news herself on Saturday morning, writing, "Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left."

"Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so," Sanders added.

After the waiter's social media post went viral, hundreds of competing Yelp and Facebook reviews began being posted from both Democrats and Republicans. The reviews ranged from low one stars to top five stars.

According to Newsweek, most reviewers thanked the restaurant for taking a moral stand.

New Randy Rainbow Parody - "WTF"

Squeee!

In this new parody, satirist Randy Rainbow riffs on "Omigod You Guys" from the hit Broadway musical, Legally Blonde, taking aim at White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, Kellyanne Conway and more White House character with "WTF."

Check those lyrics. Dang, Randy Rainbow is so uber-uber-clever.

This is one of Randy's best yet. Watch below.

Rumors Fly Sarah Huckabee Sanders Planning Early Departure From White House

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders
According to CBS News, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and deputy press secretary Raj Shah could be planning their departures from the Trump administration in the coming weeks.

Press secretary Sarah Sanders and principal deputy press secretary Raj Shah are both heading for the exits, according to sources inside the White House and close to the administration. Sanders, who has become a confidante of President Trump since the departure of former communications director Hope Hicks, has told friends that she plans to leave the administration at the end of the year.

Shah is also considering his exit, but he has not yet settled on an exact date. Neither Sanders nor Shah responded to repeated requests for comment before this story was published. When reached Wednesday evening, both declined to comment on the record, and Sanders tweeted that she is "honored to work for @POTUS."

Sanders took to Twitter last night to address the issue without denying an impending exit.

As has been noted by several outlets, the turnover for the Trump White House has been unusually high for so early in an administration, particularly in the communications shop.

Former communications director Hope Hicks, a close confidante of Trump, left her post earlier this year.

White House Press Secretary Caught Trying To Fudge "War Room" Pic

White House Press Secretary tweeted out the above message and photo in an attempt to show Donald Trump in a strong, military moment.

Unfortunately, her tweet was misleading because Vice President Mike Pence (pictured on Trump's right in the photo) was in Peru at the time of the Syria bombings.

What she really wanted was a "bin Laden war room pic," but the reality is there isn't one.

So she tried to fudge it hoping folks wouldn't notice.

Folks noticed...

Trump Furious At WH Spokesperson For Giving Stormy Daniels Story "Steroids"

According to CNN sources, Donald Trump was apparently furious at White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders for addressing a question about porn star Stormy Daniels at a White House press briefing.

CNN's John Acosta shared with his colleagues: "A source close to White House says Trump is upset with @PressSec Sarah Sanders over her handling of Stormy Daniels questions yesterday. “POTUS is very unhappy,” the source said. “Sarah gave the Stormy Daniels storyline steroids yesterday,” the source added.

During Wednesday’s press briefing, Sanders was asked by reporter Jeff Zeleny if Trump approved the payment made in October 2016 by his lawyer Michael Cohen to Stormy Daniels 11 days before the election.

Sanders answered, “This case has already been won in arbitration, and anything beyond that, I would refer you to the president’s outside counsel.”

Another reporter followed up with, “You said that there’s arbitration that’s already been won — by whom and when?”

“By the president’s personal attorneys, and for details on that I’d refer you to them. I can share that the arbitration was won in the president’s favor," Sanders replied.

As many news outlets quickly pointed out, by acknowledging Trump winning some arbitration against Daniels, we have tacit confirmation that there's some sort of agreement between Daniels and Trump.

If there were no agreement, there wouldn't be anything to arbitrate.

Oops.

White House Lies: "The President Hasn't Said That Russia Didn't Meddle"

Proving that the White House staff lives in a bizarro/other dimension where up is down and down is up, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders denied that Donald Trump ever said Russia didn't meddle in the 2016 presidential election.

Sanders told reporters at today's press briefing:

“One of the places where you guys seem to get very confused––and it seems to happen regularly––the President hasn’t said that Russian didn’t meddle. What he’s saying is it didn’t have an impact and it certainly wasn’t with help from the Trump campaign. It’s also very clear that Russia meddled in the election. It’s also very clear it didn’t have an impact on the election, and it’s also very clear the Trump campaign didn’t collude with the Russians in any way.”

Watch Ms. Sanders literally lie through her teeth below.

White House: It's "Highly Inappropriate" To Question Chief Of Staff Kelly Even Though He Was Wrong

Yesterday, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly asserted that Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) boasted about raising money during an FBI dedication ceremony in 2015.

Wilson denied Kelly's claim saying she wasn't even in Congress when the funds to build the new FBI building in question were appropriated.

Well, of course, someone was going to find that footage of Wilson's speech. And nowhere does she take credit for raising the funds to build the new FBI building. She does take credit for having the building named after two FBI agents.

And, she spends a big part of her speech praising the FBI and our law enforcement officials.

I can't embed the video, but you can see it over on South Florida's Sun-Sentinel website here.

At the White House press briefing today, members of the press asked press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders about the video which showed Kelly was inaccurate with his portrayal of Wilson's speech.

Sanders told reporters that it is "highly inappropriate" to "go after" a four-star Marine general.

Since Ms. Sanders thinks it's "highly inappropriate" to question or "go after" a military general, I wonder what she thinks of her boss, Donald Trump, "going after" these generals.

White House Press Corp Slaps Back After WH Spokesperson Calls Reporter "Outrageous"

Sarah Huckabee Sanders

After White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders accused the media of nitpicking small missteps by the White House without holding themselves to the same standard, The Sentinel's Brian Karem could no longer hold in what many in the press corp have been thinking.

“You are inflaming everyone right here right now with those words. This administration has done that as well….Any one of us are replaceable, if we don’t get it right, the audience has the opportunity to turn the channel or not read us. You have been elected to serve for four years at least, there is no option other than that,” said Karem.

“We are here to ask you questions, you are here to provide answers. And what you just did is inflammatory to people all over the country who look at it and say, ‘See, once again, the president is right and everybody else is just fake media.’ Everybody in this room is only trying to do their job.”

I personally find Sanders the definition of deplorable. Look at her face above. So very condescending.
