OMG - it's still Halloween, so I can still post my favorite witches!

NBC aired the fab "A Very Wicked Halloween" TV special this week and I loved it!

I saw the original cast twice and here we are 15 years later as the fab Broadway musical, Wicked, continues to kill it at the Gershwin Theater in New York City.

I love Wicked - it's about women discovering their true power.

It's about marginalized people coming to grips with their true power, and majesty.

It's about owning who we are with pride.

Original stars Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth reunited for the special, and it was terrific.

Kristin performed "Popular," Idina gave us "Defying Gravity," pop star Ariana Grande delivered a terrific "The Wizard & I," Ledisi and Adam Lambert (a former Wicked cast member) sang "As Long As You're Mine," and Grammy Award winners Pentatonix performed "What Is This Feeling?"

The finale of the special was Idina and Kristin joined by past 'Elphabas' and 'Glindas' for my husband's favorite song from Wicked, "For Good."

 Wicked fans are about to lose their minds :)

The blockbuster Broadway musical's original stars, Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, will reunite for the show’s 15th anniversary this fall.

The duo who conquered Oz as "Glinda" (Chenoweth) and "Elphaba" (Menzel) will headline a special tribute concert on NBC in October.

The producers of Wicked offer this synposis:

Winner of over 50 major awards including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards®, WICKED is the untold story of the witches of Oz. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. WICKED tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

To refresh your memory, here's the spectacular Tony Award performance in 2004 of the act one closer, "Defying Gravity."

Joining the pair of Broadway veterans will be recording artists like Ariana Grande and Pentatonix with more guest stars to be announced..

NBC special programs and late night exec Doug Vaughan issued this statement about the casting coup:

“Wicked is a blockbuster musical playing all over the world and still selling out night after night after 15 years on Broadway, and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Emmy and Tony-winning producer Marc Platt and the entire Wicked team to celebrate the enduring success of this show.”

The terrific twosome will return to Oz, on Monday, October 29, when the Wicked special airs on NBC.

In May of 2016, Kristin and Idina reunited for a special studio version of their duet, "For Good."

Oh yeah, the magic is still there :)

Tony Award-winners Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel sing "For Good" together for the first time in 12 years.

The ladies got together to duet once again for a Second Stage Theatre's gala honoring Wicked producer David Stone on Monday.

The two created their iconic roles of "Glinda" and "Elphaba" (respectively) in the original cast of Wicked, which recently crossed over $1 billion in box office for the Broadway company alone, and over $4 billion worldwide.

Years later, the connection between the two is just as magical.

Kristin Chenoweth in Concert in Las Vegas

I had a great time seeing the fab Kristin Chenoweth in concert last night at the Smith Center here in Las Vegas.

One of the highlights of the evening came when Kristin, as she now famously does, asked if a member of the audience knew the words and music to the duet "For Good" from her hit Broadway show WICKED.

Immediately, a voice yelled out "I know it!"

A male voice.

Kristin engaged the young man, Ray Winters, asking a few question about him and his background (Las Vegas native, currently studying musical theatre in NYC) before she said "well, I have to sing with you now."

Kristin shared that it was the first time in all the concerts she's welcomed someone from the audience up to sing the song that she had a male duet partner.

Ray did great (appropriate green shirt and all); the audience loved it.  Pretty fabulous moment.

Congrats Ray on a fine job.

Kristin sang a set-list that ranged the gamut from gospel, Christian, Broadway, country, disco and novelty numbers.  My favorite moments were from the Broadway catalog.  Highlights for me were "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables; "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" from Phantom of the Opera; her songs from WICKED; a moving rendition of Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You;" and a terrific "Over the Rainbow" for her finale encore. 

Congrats to the luminous Kristin Chenoweth for a terrific evening directed by Richard Jay-Alexander. What a voice, what a night!

Both talented ladies make me smile.  So much success since their WICKED days together.  And well deserved, it is.

In case you missed my radio show yesterday - I got to interview YouTube and viral video sensation Sarah Horn regarding her amazing duet with Kristin Chenoweth at the Hollywood Bowl last week.

Not only have exciting things been happening for Sarah, but the Hollywood Bowl has already invited her back to sing at an upcoming concert featuring the music of ABBA. Plus, she's still sorting through calls and emails about more opportunities.

Sarah Horn thought her evening was going to consist of seeing her favorite Broadway star, Kristin Chenoweth, in concert at the Hollywood Bowl.

Instead, she sang half of what became "the duet heard 'round the world" as Chenoweth brought Sarah up on stage by chance to sing with her. Not only did she sing, she stopped the show!

The YouTube video of her impromptu duet with Chenoweth has had more than 2.5 million views in less than a week.

We talk to Sarah about the duet and what has happened to her in the week since.
