20/20 Promo: James Comey Compares Trump To "A Mob Boss"

If there was any doubt that former FBI Director James Comey's upcoming book, A Higher Loyalty, would be a bestseller, this is all you need to know:

Axios is reporting that Comey has taped an exclusive interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, set to air Sunday at 10 p.m. as a "20/20" special.

Sources tell Axios the one-on-one with Comey is "going to shock the president and his team."

In an ABC promo, Stephanopoulos says Comey compared Trump to "a mob boss."

Comey's book, "A Higher Loyalty," is out next Tuesday. He taped the interview Monday at his Washington-area home.

George Stephanopoulos Shuts Down Trump Spokesperson On "Wire Tap" Lies

White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders appeared on both Good Morning America and The Today Show this morning in an attempt to bolster President Trump's unsubstantiated claim that President Obama ordered a wire tap on Trump Tower phones during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Clearly Sanders was proud of herself (or a White House staffer) who seemed to come up with her folksy line about walking on water since she repeated the same dialogue on both shows.

“The media loves to create this false narrative against the current president but is so quick to dismiss anything under the past administration. If the president walked across the Potomac, the media would report that he couldn’t swim.”

During the GMA appearance, George Stephanopoulos tried to stay to the facts asking Huckabee Sanders if Trump accepts FBI Director James Comey’s public denial that the wiretap happened. With a straight face, Huckabee Sanders replied, “You know, I don’t think that he does.”

Several times during the segment, Huckabee Sanders would attempt to draw a false equivalence between Trump’s assertion of wiretapping, and the alleged connections between Trump and Russian officials. Stephanopoulos wasn't having it.

More than once, TV viewers heard Stephanopoulos stop Huckabee Sanders with, "I've got to stop you. That is simply not true … Not a single one of those articles backs it up. So what is the president's evidence?"

Huckabee Sanders eventually turned back to her clearly rehearsed line about Trump walking across the Potomac, looking quite pleased with herself.

George Stephanopoulos Steps Out Of GOP Presidential Debate Over Clinton Foundation Donations

In consideration of donations he made to the Clinton Foundation, George Stephanopoulos has announced he will not moderate the ABC News-sponsored Republican primary debate in February to avoid the impression of bias.

"I want to address some news you may have seen about me. Over the last several years I’ve made substantial donations to dozens of charities, including the Clinton Global Foundation. Those donations were a matter of public record but I should have made additional disclosures on-air hen we covered the Foundation.

"And I now believe that directing personal donations to that foundation was a mistake. Even though I made them strictly support work done to stop the spread of AIDS, help the children, and protect the environment in poor countries, I should’ve gone the extra mile to avoid even the appearance of a conflict.

"I apologize to all of you for failing to do that."

Over the past three years Stephanopoulos has made 3 $25K donations to support stopping the spread of AIDS.
