Some news items you might have missed:

• Memorial Day weekend means we head into the dog days of summer. I'm not complaining ;)

• During a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos told lawmakers she had no problem with private schools receiving publicly-funded vouchers denying admission to students from LGBTQ families.

• United Airlines wrongly accused a gay dad of having his hand "too close" to his son's genitals during a flight. United has since apologized but asked the man to "keep it low key" due to the airline's recent bad press.

• In high school, Wyatt Pertuset was homecoming king, prom king, student body president and an out football player. Check out his terrific coming out story over at OutSports.

• Speaking of out athletes, the former CEO of the Cleveland Browns thinks Michael Sam's short foray into the NFL could prevent other closeted football players from coming out.

• The White House may have a team of lawyers vet President Trump's tweets before the Donald sends them out into the interwebs.

• Check out hottie Rob Gronkowski get soaking wet washing his car, serve sushi from his bare bod and literally flip out in a pillow fight in the new “On My Mind” video from dance music DJ/producer 3LAU. I like the song, btw.

The New England Patriot's Rob Gronkowsi gets his "gronkiest" as a guest on the long running "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"

After sharing his "secret" that he likes to dance with Wayne Brady and Jonathan Mangum, they improvise a stadium rock song as Gronk showcases his moves.

Later in the episode Gronkowski got in on the comedy with a few jokes NOT about chicken breasts.

I am a fan of the Gronk.

Patriots Rob Gronkowski: An openly gay player would be "another teammate and another friend"

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski appeared on ESPN Radio New York recently saying that he's fine with a gay player on the team:

"I got this question before, about a year ago, and I basically will say the same answer that I did a year ago. You've got to accept the player. Everyone has their own ways to live their life and as long as he's respecting me, keeping distance, respecting myself, I'll respect him back. If he's being a great teammate and he's a guy on the field doing a great job, well then you've got nothing to complain about. He's another teammate and another friend."

"If someone is on my team and they are a great teammate and a great player on the field, helping the team win -- that's all you've got to ask for."

No active NFL player has publicly come out as gay, although a report from CBSSports.com this week states that a current NFL player is "strongly considering" doing so.

Rob Gronkowski shirtless in New Orleans

After last year’s loss to the New York Giants, Rob Gronkowski was photographed dancing at the Patriots’ postgame party, and he’s at it again this year in New Orleans.

The Patriots may not have made it to the Super Bowl this year, but Gronkowski’s party antics did. He was photographed shirtless at Bogie’s Bar in Baton Rouge drinking a beer and loving life.

The good news for Patriots fans is that while he may have been missing his shirt, he was wearing his cast on his left arm. Perhaps this is all part of his healing process and if it is, party on, Gronk.

Love Rob Gronkowski.  Been following him for years - for his athletic achievements of course.

The extremely scantily-clad Patriots tight end, wearing only Hulk hands and a grimace, made the cover of ESPN The Magazine's "body issue" that will hit newsstands on Friday.

The fourth annual special issue is billed by ESPN as a "celebration of the athletic form" and will feature 27 world-class athletes. In addition to Rob Gronkowski, the issue also includes Blue Jays home run hitter Jose Bautista, US women's national soccer team forward Abby Wambach, and New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler.
