Louis C.K. Returns Mocking Parkland School Shooting Students & Transphobic 'Jokes'

Louis CK returns to the comedy stage (image via WikiMedia)
Just when you thought Kevin Spacey’s bizarre YouTube video was the worst re-emergence of the year, Louis C.K. shows up with a ‘hold my beer’ moment.

After multiple allegations of sexual misconduct forced him from the public eye in November 2017 - his FX network series was cancelled and the release of his feature film I Love You Daddy was axed - the comic told the world he was going to chill for bit.

“These stories are true,” he wrote in his apology. “When you have power over another person, asking them to look at your dick isn’t a question. It’s a predicament for them. The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly.”

‘I have spent my long and lucky career talking and saying anything I want,” Louis C.K. said at the time. “I will now step back and take a long time to listen.”

Well, he’s not listening any longer.

In a new comedy set (which leaked this weekend), the 51-year-old came out swinging at a whole host of targets.

Complaining about young people today, he riffed on folks who use gender neutral pronouns.

“They’re like royalty!” he said. “They tell you what to call them. ‘You should address me as they/them, because I identify as gender-neutral.’ Oh, Ok. You should address me as ‘there’ because I identify as a location. And the location is your mother’s cunt.”

He also trained his ire on the survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida where seventeen teens and adults were killed on February 14.

“They testify in front of Congress, these kids? What are they doing?,” says the comic in the leaked video.

“You’re young, you should be crazy, you should be unhinged, not in a suit… you’re not interesting. Because you went to a high school where kids got shot? Why does that mean I have to listen to you? You didn’t got shot, you pushed some fat kid in the way, and now I’ve gotta listen to you talking?”

Listening to the audio, it’s hard to tell which is worse: Louis C.K. doing transphobic jokes and mocking school shooting survivors or the people laughing uproariously at the routine.

The Twitterverse wasn’t having it:

There were a few fans who tried to defend Louis C.K. saying this is who he’s always been:

But this Twitter user summed it up best perhaps: “I actually don’t need to hear audio of Louis CK making fun of the Parkland survivors and trans people. It’s about to be a new year. I think I’ll leave Louis CK behind in 2018 and that’s where he can stay forever.”

What do you think, readers?

Is this just a comedy set? Or should Louis C.K. go back to chilling?

Louis C.K. Breaks His Silence On Sexual Misconduct Allegations: "These Stories Are True"

In the aftermath of numerous sexual misconduct allegations leveled at comedian Louis C.K by the New York Times, he has broken his silence by penning a statement addressing the scandal: "These stories are true."

Via EW.com:

I want to address the stories told to The New York Times by five women named Abby, Rebecca, Dana, Julia who felt able to name themselves and one who did not.

These stories are true. At the time, I said to myself that what I did was okay because I never showed a woman my dick without asking first, which is also true. But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your dick isn’t a question. It’s a predicament for them. The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly. I have been remorseful of my actions. And I’ve tried to learn from them. And run from them. Now I’m aware of the extent of the impact of my actions. I learned yesterday the extent to which I left these women who admired me feeling badly about themselves and cautious around other men who would never have put them in that position.

I also took advantage of the fact that I was widely admired in my and their community, which disabled them from sharing their story and brought hardship to them when they tried because people who look up to me didn’t want to hear it. I didn’t think that I was doing any of that because my position allowed me not to think about it.

There is nothing about this that I forgive myself for. And I have to reconcile it with who I am. Which is nothing compared to the task I left them with.

I wish I had reacted to their admiration of me by being a good example to them as a man and given them some guidance as a comedian, including because I admired their work.

The hardest regret to live with is what you’ve done to hurt someone else. And I can hardly wrap my head around the scope of hurt I brought on them. I’d be remiss to exclude the hurt that I’ve brought on people who I work with and have worked with who’s professional and personal lives have been impacted by all of this, including projects currently in production: the cast and crew of Better Things, Baskets, The Cops, One Mississippi, and I Love You, Daddy. I deeply regret that this has brought negative attention to my manager Dave Becky who only tried to mediate a situation that I caused. I’ve brought anguish and hardship to the people at FX who have given me so much; The Orchard who took a chance on my movie, and every other entity that has bet on me through the years. I’ve brought pain to my family, my friends, my children and their mother.

I have spent my long and lucky career talking and saying anything I want. I will now step back and take a long time to listen.

Thank you for reading.

Louis C.K. has denied the allegations for years saying the stories of misconduct were simply "rumors."

After the New York Times piece was published yesterday:

• His new film, "I Love You, Daddy" has seen it's distribution deal scrapped

• Netflix canceled an upcoming stand-up comedy special

• HBO has scrubbed all of his content from it's On Demand library

• FX is considering doing the same

• His business partners have issued statements distancing themselves from him

SNL Round-Up: Louis C.K. Kills, Pepsi Commercial Director Gets It Too Late, And Double The Trump

My favorite moment from last night's SNL - host Louis C.K.'s monologue ("“I’ve been doing this for 32 years now, and it’s been going great for four years") called out chickens for being racist, wonders if giraffes are amazed by their long necks, and ponders white privilege.

Louis C.K. also starred in this music video - "Thank You, Scott" - which pays "homage" to all those folks on their phones and laptops who might never actually get out and march for anything, but are saving the world one tweet at a time.

SNL showed why you need your friends as sounding boards, just in case you get that big, big chance to conceive and direct a Pepsi commercial starring Kendall Jenner.

And we got two Alec Baldwin "Trump" appearances.

First, Deadline recaps an Alec double-header as Baldwin plays not only Trump but Bill O'Reilly:

Playing both roles in a split-screen O’Reilly Factor interview parody, Baldwin had smarm, arrogance and pomposity oozing from both sides. A week after reports presented Fox’s Papa Bear as a serial sexual harasser willing to spend millions to settle with his accusers, SNL and Baldwin gave no quarter.

“A scandal no one thought I’d have the guts to address,” Baldwin’s O’Reilly said, then launched into some trumped up Obama scandal. And when a female Fox reporter didn’t show up as scheduled (“Did she get the check?” O’Reilly says to a producer sotto voce), another female correspondent steps in – from a pre-arranged 500 foot distance.

SNL even got in shots about the Factor‘s advertising exodus, as O’Reilly’s patrons were limited to barrel-bottom spots for dog cocaine, horse Cialis – and the movie Chips.

The sketch kicked into gear, though, with Bill and Don’s back-patting adventure.

Bill: “You even went as far as saying Bill O’Reilly did nothing wrong, and that based on…?

Don: “Hunch, just a loose hunch.”

The second Trump clip shows the Donald in coal country, feeling good about his big week:

“Thank you. thank you. We all love trump, don’t we? We do. I had an amazing week, folks. I met with leaders from China, Egypt and Jordan. Gorsuch was confirmed and the media is saying nice things and no one is talking about Russia. What a difference 59 tomahawk missiles can make.

Louis C.K.: "If You Vote For Hillary, You're A Grownup"

During an appearance on "Conan" last night, comedian Louis C.K. showed exactly how he doesn't mince words when it comes to the presidential election.

“I’m gonna vote for Hillary.”

“I think she’s great. It’s not like a lesser of two evils — I think she’s great. I really like her. I think she’s talented and I think she’s super smart. … I would take her over anybody.”

That's the nice part. Louis then goes full on rant about people who don't vote and what he thinks about them.

"If you vote for Hillary you're a grownup; if you vote for Trump you're a sucker; if you don't vote for anyone, you're an asshole."

I love this guy. Talk about speaking his mind. AND, he's funny.

Louis C.K. On Donald Trump: "It Was Funny For A While But The Guy Is Hitler"

Louis C.K.

Comedy superstar Louis C.K. has penned a devastatingly honest email to his fans regarding the current election cycle.

I won't preface it except to say it's spot on. He doesn't advocate for any one candidate, but he does implore folks to actually think about who they are voting for.

Please stop it with voting for Trump. It was funny for a little while. But the guy is Hitler. And by that I mean that we are being Germany in the 30s. Do you think they saw the shit coming? Hitler was just some hilarious and refreshing dude with a weird comb over who would say anything at all.

And I'm not advocating for Hillary or Bernie. I like them both but frankly I wish the next president was a conservative only because we had Obama for eight years and we need balance. And not because I particularly enjoy the conservative agenda. I just think the government should reflect the people. And we are about 40 percent conservative and 40 percent liberal. When I was growing up and when I was a younger man, liberals and conservatives were friends with differences. They weren’t enemies. And it always made sense that everyone gets a president they like for a while and then hates the president for a while. But it only works if the conservatives put up a good candidate. A good smart conservative to face the liberal candidate so they can have a good argument and the country can decide which way to go this time.

Trump is not that. He's an insane bigot. He is dangerous.

He already said he would expand libel laws to sue anyone who "writes a negative hit piece" about him. He says "I would open up the libel laws so we can sue them and win lots of money. Not like now. These guys are totally protected." He said that. He has promised to decimate the first amendment. (If you think he’s going to keep the second amendment intact you’re delusional.) And he said that Paul Ryan, speaker of the house will "pay" for criticizing him. So I'm saying this now because if he gets in there we won't be able to criticize him anymore.

Please pick someone else. Like John Kasich. I mean that guy seems okay. I don't like any of them myself but if you're that kind of voter please go for a guy like that. It feels like between him and either democrat we'd have a decent choice. It feels like a healthier choice. We shouldn't have to vote for someone because they're not a shocking cunt billionaire liar.

We should choose based on what direction the country should go.

I get that all these people sound like bullshit soft criminal opportunists. The whole game feels rigged and it's not going anywhere but down anymore. I feel that way sometimes.

And that voting for Trump is a way of saying "fuck it. Fuck them all". I really get it. It's a version of national Suicide. Or it's like a big hit off of a crack pipe. Somehow we can't help it. Or we know that if we vote for Trump our phones will be a reliable source of dopamine for the next four years. I mean I can't wait to read about Trump every day. It's a rush. But you have to know this is not healthy.

If you are a true conservative. Don't vote for Trump. He is not one of you. He is one of him. Everything you have heard him say that you liked, if you look hard enough you will see that he one day said the exact opposite. He is playing you.

In fact, if you do vote for Trump, at least look at him very carefully first. You owe that to the rest of us. Know and understand who he is. Spend one hour on google and just read it all. I don’t mean listen to me or listen to liberals who put him down. Listen to your own people. Listen to John Mccain. Go look at what he just said about Trump. "At a time when our world has never been more complex or more in danger... I want Republican voters to pay close attention to what our party's most respected and knowledgeable leaders and national security experts are saying about Mr. Trump, and to think long and hard about who they want to be our next Commander-in-Chief and leader of the free world.”

When Trump was told what he said, Trump said "Oh, he did? Well, that's not nice," he told CBS News' chief White House correspondent Major Garrett. "He has to be very careful."

When pressed on why, Trump tacked on: "He'll find out.”

(I cut and pasted that from CBS news)

Do you really want a guy to be president who threatens John McCain? Because John McCain cautiously and intelligently asked for people to be thoughtful before voting for him? He didn’t even insult Trump. He just asked you to take a good look. And Trump told him to look out.

Remember that Trump entered this race by saying that McCain is not a war hero. A guy who was shot down, body broken and kept in a POW camp for years. Trump said “I prefer the guys who don’t get caught.” Why did he say that? Not because he meant it or because it was important to say. He said it because he’s a bully and every bully knows that when you enter a new school yard, you go to the toughest most respected guy on the yard and you punch him in the nose. If you are still standing after, you’re the new boss. If Trump is president, he’s not going to change. He’s not going to do anything for you. He’s going to do everything for himself and leave you in the dust.

So please listen to fellow conservatives. But more importantly, listen to Trump. Listen to all of it. Everything he says. If you liked when he said that “torture works” then go look at where he took it back the next day. He’s a fucking liar.

A vote for Trump is so clearly a gut-vote, and again I get it. But add a little brain to it and look the guy up. Because if you vote for him because of how you feel right now, the minute he's president, you're going to regret it. You're going to regret it even more when he gives the job to his son. Because American democracy is broken enough that a guy like that could really fuck things up. That's how Hitler got there. He was voted into power by a fatigued nation and when he got inside, he did all his Hitler things and no one could stop him.

Again, I’m not saying vote democrat or vote for anyone else. If Hilary ends up president it should be because she faced the best person you have and you and I both chose her or him or whoever. Trump is not your best. He’s the worst of all of us. He’s a symptom to a problem that is very real. But don’t vote for your own cancer. You’re better than that.

That's just my view. At least right now. I know I’m not qualified or particularly educated and I'm not right instead of you. I’m an idiot and I'm sure a bunch of you are very annoyed by this. Fucking celebrity with an opinion. I swear this isn’t really a political opinion. You don’t want to know my political opinions. (And I know that I’m only bringing myself trouble with this shit.) Trump has nothing to do with politics or ideology. He has to do with himself. And really I don't mean to insult anyone. Except Trump. I mean to insult him very much. And really I’m not saying he’s evil or a monster. In fact I don’t think Hitler was. The problem with saying that guys like that are monsters is that we don’t see them coming when they turn out to be human, which they all are. Everyone is. Trump is a messed up guy with a hole in his heart that he tries to fill with money and attention. He can never ever have enough of either and he’ll never stop trying. He’s sick. Which makes him really really interesting. And he pulls you towards him which somehow feels good or fascinatingly bad. He’s not a monster. He’s a sad man. But all this makes him horribly dangerous if he becomes president. Give him another TV show. Let him pay to put his name on buildings. But please stop voting for him.

And please watch Horace and Pete.

Louis C.K. on marriage equality

"It doesn't have ANY effect on your life.  What do you care?!  People try to talk about it like it's a social issue.  Like when you see someone stand up on a talk show and say "How am I supposed to explain that two men are getting married?"...

"I dunno, it's your shitty kid, you fuckin' tell 'em.  Why is that anyone else's problem?  Two guys are in LOVE but they can't get married because YOU don't want to talk to your ugly child for fuckin' five minutes?"
- Louis C.K.
