Homophobe Franklin Graham celebrated on his Facebook page the news that the Trump administration is rejecting requests from US embassies to fly the Pride flag during Pride Month.

“I want to thank President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for making the decision not to fly the gay flag over our embassies during June in recognition of gay pride month. That is the right decision.

"The only flag that should fly over our embassies is the flag of the United States of America.

"The gay pride flag is offensive to Christians and millions of people of other faiths, not only in this country but around the world. The U.S. flag represents our nation—everyone—regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation.”

Evangelist Calls On Mayor Pete Buttigieg To 'Repent' For Being Gay, Twitterverse Claps Back

Evangelist Franklin Graham tweeted on Wednesday an attack on Democratic White House hopeful Mayor Pete Buttigieg for being gay and being in a same-sex marriage.

Graham took Buttigieg to task for being openly gay which the evangelist said was something the South Bend mayor should “be repentant of, not something to be flaunted, praised, or politicized.”

“The Bible says marriage is between a man & a woman—not two men, not two women,” added Graham. “The core of the Christian faith is believing and following Jesus Christ, who God sent to be the Savior of the world—to save us from sin, to save us from hell, to save us from eternal damnation.”

Graham has also called Melania Trump, who worked as a (sometimes nude) model in her time before the White House, as the "classiest First Lady our country has ever had."

Buttigieg, who is a practicing Episcopalian, has been open about his religious beliefs. At a CNN town hall on Monday, he told the crowd he’s a proud gay Christian and feels that “God doesn’t have a political party.”

Buttigieg has also called out evangelical leaders who spew anti-LGBTQ policies.

During an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, he said “I don’t have a problem with religion, I’m religious, too.”

He quickly added, “I have a problem with religion being used as justification to harm people.”

The 37-year-old has also pointed out the hypocrisy of evangelicals who have turned a blind eye to Donald Trump’s multitudinous lies and his alleged affair with porn star, Stormy Daniels.

Buttigieg isn’t the only one who sees hypocrisy in action.

Evangelist Franklin Graham, son of the late evangelist Billy Graham, says the country "knew the kind of person" Donald Trump was when he was elected president.

"I don't have concern, in a sense, because these things happened many years ago – and there's such bigger problems in front of us as a nation that we need to be dealing with than other things in his life a long time ago. I think some of these things – that's for him and his wife to deal with. I think when the country went after President Clinton, the Republicans, that was a great mistake that should never have happened. And I think this thing with Stormy Daniels and so forth is nobody's business. And we've got other business at hand that we need to deal with."

"On this thing with Stormy Daniels and so forth: This stuff happened 12 years ago. This isn’t behavior that has taken place since he’s been president. Franklin Graham Denounces Proposed Ban On "Ex-Gay" Therapy - "Homosexuality Is An Abomination"

In a post on his Facebook page, Franklin Graham denounced Democratic lawmakers for proposing a federal ban on so-called "ex-gay therapy."

Along the way, reasserts that "homosexuality is an abomination," and that gays are born "imperfect."

“Now Democrats are proposing a bill to ban conversion therapy in the United States, saying that LGBTQ people were born perfect. Actually, they are very misled. We were all born imperfect, with sinful natures — yet loved by God who offers us forgiveness and wholeness through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.

“Homosexuality is defined by God as sin, an abomination to Him. There’s one ‘conversion therapy’ that works for all sin, and that is asking Jesus Christ to come into our hearts. He can transform and heal our lives, making us new. The Bible tells us, ‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come’ (2 Cor. 5:17).”

Congressman Ted Lieu introduced The Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act of 2017 this week.

At the time he told the Washington Post:

“The bill is very simple. It says it is fraud if you treat someone for a condition that doesn’t exist and there’s no medical condition known as being gay.

"LGBTQ people were born perfect; there is nothing to treat them for. And by calling this what it should be, which is fraud, it would effectively shut down most of the organizations.”

"Ex-gay therapy," also known as "reparative therapy" has been decried by dozens of medical professional organizations, and has been proved to harmful, akin to torture.

I don't know about being "perfect," but...

Franklin Graham Is Mad Target Stores Won't Label Items Pink Or Blue

Franklin Graham, who it was recently revealed earns $880,000 a year working for a charity organization, posted this little tirade over Target's announcement that the department store will no longer identify some items as gender-specific.

How that's a bad thing, I don't know.

From the well-heeled charity leader himself via Facebook:

“I think Target may be forgetting who has made their stores strong.

"It’s not gender-neutral people out there—it’s working American families, fathers and mothers with boys and girls they love.

"What’s next? Are they going to try to make people believe that pink or blue baby showers are politically incorrect?

"I have news for them and for everyone else—God created two different genders. Jesus said, ‘Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female’ (Matthew 19:4). You can’t get any clearer than that.

Franklin Graham Doesn't Like The Word "Spouse"

In light of same-sex marriage now being the law of the land, there has been a proposal, the “Amend the Code for Marriage Equality Act” sponsored by Rep. Lois Capps of California, to change government forms to use the word "spouse" instead of "husband" and "wife" since many married couples will now have two husbands or wives.

While it's a logical change to make, anti-gay Franklin Graham is not having any of it. His take is that this is a further assault on 'biblical marriage.'

"Where will the assault on biblical marriage end? Now liberal politicians in California want to ban the words 'husband' and 'wife' from being used in federal law. They say these are 'gendered terms' that discriminate against homosexuals.

"You’re absolutely right they are gendered terms—because marriage was created to be gendered! The One who created marriage defined it as between a man and a woman.

"They have already succeeded in deleting husband and wife from California law last year, now they want to take it to the national level.

"This is shameful! Call your representatives in Congress and the Senate to let them know that you oppose the 'Amend the Code for Marriage Equality Act.' Many wedding ceremonies include the familiar line, 'Speak now or forever hold your peace' – Well we’ve got to speak now!"

Franklin Graham Rants On LGBT Progress, Blames Obama

Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, took to Facebook with an anti-gay rant about the progress of attitudes towards LGBTs in America, blaming President Obama for the "moral decline we are seeing manifest daily:"

"President Barack Obama was right about one thing in the speech he gave at a Gay Pride event he hosted in the White House yesterday. He said, 'There has been an incredible shift in attitudes across the country.' That’s true—but it is definitely not a shift for the good of America. The shift in attitudes he refers to is the moral decline we are seeing manifest daily around us. Accepting wrong as right—accepting sin as something to be proud of. Yes, that’s definitely a shift. Should we be surprised that he thanked the LGBT community for all that they had helped him accomplish during his time as president? He said, 'A lot of what we’ve accomplished over these last six and a half years has been because of you.' He also noted there were two states where gay marriage was legal when he took office, but now there are 37. The President is leading this nation on a sinful course, and God will judge him and us as a nation if we don’t repent."

Rachel Maddow shares her gleeful response to the epic fail by evangelist Franklin Graham, who took umbrage at Wells Fargo's latest LGBT inclusive ad.

From his Facebook page: "Have you ever asked yourself – how can we fight the tide of moral decay that is being crammed down our throats by big business, the media, and the gay & lesbian community?"

Graham took all of his company's account out of Wells Fargo (after the above online rant) and moved them to another bank, BB&T.

Then it turned out BB&T is just as LGBT supportive as Wells Fargo in that the bank is a platinum sponsor of Miami Beach Gay Pride and much more.

In light of Rev. Franklin Graham's statement yesterday calling for a boycott of major corporations who show support for the LGBT community, hate group leader Tony Perkins sent this out to his followers:

"Wells Fargo may be the first American bank to feature a lesbian ad -- but it may also be the last.

"The outrage over these in-your-face commercials is finally reaching a boiling point with consumers, who are sick and tired of watching companies pitch agendas over products. American powerhouses like General Mills, Tiffany & Co., Amazon, Starbucks, Tylenol, Target, Nabisco, Alaska Airlines, and even Betty Crocker are tripping over themselves to pander to 2.3% of the buying public with intense LGBT advocacy.

"Like us, Rev. Franklin Graham has had enough. In response to Wells Fargo's new ad, the son of evangelist Billy Graham is making an enormous withdrawal: his ministry's accounts.

"On Facebook, Franklin challenged Christians to take a long, hard look at where their money is going. Are your dollars financing the war on your values? If so, maybe it's time to do something about it."

The great irony in all this is Graham moved his bank accounts from Wells Fargo (longtime LGBT ally) to BB&T, which will be sponsoring the Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade and has an 80% approval rating on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index.

Cokie Roberts confronted homophobes Reverend Franklin Graham and Ralph Reed about their stance on gay families on ABC's "This Week."

Here's the transcript:

Ralph Reed: This is about what’s best for children here in the United States. And the social science is irrefutable. And it is that a child who grows up in a home without the mother and father present and they both play very unique procreative, nurturing and socializing role, they’re nine times more likely to end up dropping out of high school. They’re five times more likely to end up in poverty. And they’re three times more likely to end up addicted drugs and alcohol.

Cokie Roberts: Orphanages than a child raised in a home. And the fact that people are willing to take these children and raise them and raise them in a loving way is clearly better for these children.

Martha Raddatz: Would you agree with that? Would you rather have a child sitting in an orphanage and not have gay parents?

Ralph Reed: I think that the social science is just simply not in yet on same-sex couples and I think the law has every right to set an ideal. And the ideal is a mother and a father.

Cokie Roberts: The reason the numbers have changed so dramatically on this, first of all, that ideal isn’t true in all kinds of families that … being what it is and the abandoned mothers. But it is also true. I mean, if we got, if we got better men, we’d be in better shape. The reason the numbers have changed so fast and so dramatically on this question of gay marriage — it’s really like no other issue we’ve ever experienced — is because everybody in American now has experience with someone who is gay. People have come out of the closet and said, I am your brother. I am your sister. And then they have seen these families raising children and see these –

Martha Raddatz: I’m going to switch on this last one, back to you, Reverend Graham. And I’m going to ask you about your dad.Your father was known as the pastor to the presidents. Does that rule still exist, do you think?

Rev. Franklin Graham: Well, I don’t know, not like he had it. But our country is different today and it’s changed, no question.

You know, when we talk about families and we talk about gay people, many people — maybe gays that are watching, you know, want to know can God forgive me or can I go to heaven as a gay person, absolutely. But the same for any of us. We have to repent of our sins and turn. A person cannot stay in adultery and be accepted by God. You have to repent.

Martha Raddatz: What would you say to those children? What would you say to those children of gay parents?

Rev. Franklin Graham: What children? Of gay parents?

Martha Raddatz: About their parents?

Rev. Franklin Graham: That, like any parent who is living in sin. If we repent — Franklin Graham is a sinner, and I’m no better than a gay person. I’m a sinner. But I’ve been forgiven, and I’ve turned from my sins.

And for any person that’s willing to repent, in turn, God will forgive. And you can be gay and go to heaven, no question.

Cokie Roberts: There are a lot of gay people who feel that they are sinners, but not because they’re gay.

Franklin Graham: Satan is to blame for marriage equality

Writing on his father's website, Franklin Graham says that Satan is the one behind equal rights for gays and lesbians:

This is a full-scale assault against Christianity and the followers of Christ. When prayer is banned from the public square, when our President fails to defend biblically defined marriage, and he openly and zealously advocates for gay rights; when legislators rush to overrule existing laws to promote gay marriage; when schools and courts consistently suppress religious freedoms; we know we are locked in a war against the Christian faith, not culture.

The architect behind this offensive is none other than Satan himself. The Scripture says that the devil, our archenemy, is bent on as much destruction as possible. “But woe to you O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short” (Revelation 12:12).

Satan knows that one day very soon, he will be cast into the lake of fire and sulfur in hell (Revelation 20:10). As that day draws near, his malicious, hellish activity is intensifying. He has already been decisively defeated on the cross by the Lord Jesus Christ, who took away his ultimate weapons of death and condemnation. For now, however, he still has power to work woe on earth.

Graham goes on to cast people like himself - white, straight, male, wealthy - as the true victims of same-sex marriage. That men such as himself are the ones with the uphill climb.

Because being born white, straight, male and wealthy really sets you up for disaster compared to others in America.
