Sarah Huckabee Sanders |
After fielding questions regarding whether Donald Trump is responsible to some degree for inspiring disturbed people to send pipe bombs or shoot up a Pittsburgh synagogue, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders went on a lengthy tirade from the podium today.
Sanders told reporters "it would be nice if every once in a while we could focus on a few of the positive things the President has done instead of just attacking him."
Sanders also erroneously declared that Trump had won the election "with an overwhelming majority of 63 million people." As has been pointed out many times, Hillary Clinton beat Trump in the popular vote by millions.
She ended the rant by abruptly closing her notes and leaving the room. Watch below.
"The President has been delivering, day in, day out, and I think it would be nice if every once in a while we could focus on a few of the positive things the President has done instead of just attacking him." - @PressSec Sarah Sanders https://t.co/lSNLJnRNcG pic.twitter.com/8O5u06q1Pd— CNN Newsroom (@CNNnewsroom) October 29, 2018
Sanders defended Trump saying at one point that "the president is not placing blame," and yet this morning he tweeted a new attack on the press:
The Fake News is doing everything in their power to blame Republicans, Conservatives and me for the division and hatred that has been going on for so long in our Country. Actually, it is their Fake & Dishonest reporting which is causing problems far greater than they understand!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 29, 2018
