Stephen Miller. the oh-so-condescending pet of Donald Trump, made an appearance this morning on CNN's State of the Union with Jake Tapper thinking he would show the world how he could own Tapper.
But in the end, Miller only confirmed his status as Trump's petulant postulant for impertinent fool.
From the beginning, Miller almost appears drunk or stoned swaying forward and back as he spoke in an odd, slow cadence using his biggest and bestest hyperbolic adjectives wherever he could fit them in.
While the appearance was meant to discuss Michael Wolff's explosive new book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, clearly Miller came in with the scripted talking points the White House has been pushing of late: conquered 17 Republicans in the primary, brought down the Bush "dynasty" and Clinton "dynasty," brilliant, brilliant, blah blah blah.
Miller also got in some shots at CNN:
Miller: “You get 24 hours of negative anti-Trump hysterical coverage on this network.”
Tapper: “I think the viewers right now can ascertain who is being hysterical.”
Eventually, Miller became unhinged telling Tapper that HE was condescending. Tapper finally had had enough of Miller and closed the segment while Miller was still talking:
“I get it. There’s one viewer that you care about right now and you’re being obsequious and you’re being a factotum in order to please him, okay. And I think I’ve wasted enough of my viewers’ time. Thank you, Stephen."
Annnnnnd, scene.
Bonus points to Tapper for the effortless inclusion of the word "obsequious."
If you can't stomach 12 minutes of Miller, here's the very end as Tapper dismisses him:
I really encourage you to watch the full performance below, though. It's pretty wild and wooly.
And just to confirm Miller's boss was watching:
Jake Tapper of Fake News CNN just got destroyed in his interview with Stephen Miller of the Trump Administration. Watch the hatred and unfairness of this CNN flunky!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 7, 2018
Miller was accused of only having an audience of one. Trump's tweet proves Tapper was right. #stablegenius https://t.co/FgifKN3CK8— Tuxedo Mask (@TheLoveBel0w) January 7, 2018
Miller had an audience of one who undoubtedly was pleased by his bizarre performance on @CNNSotu. But does a WH aide going on TV, acting obnoxious and unstable, help a @POTUS who is under siege for being obnoxious and unstable?😳— David Axelrod (@davidaxelrod) January 7, 2018
With something as serious as a scathing tell-all book w/on record sources, you send your chief of staff on television to defend it, not some white nationalist flunky. But John Kelly, others, probably wouldn’t go on TV and defend against Wolff & Fire and Fury.— Mike Signorile (@MSignorile) January 7, 2018
FWIW, I think @jaketapper did a superior job today in the Stephen Miller interview.— Jeffrey Goldberg (@JeffreyGoldberg) January 7, 2018
Watching The Miller Meltdown on @CNNSotu, I am reminded once more of the great lesson from the legendary Zell Miller: a hit dog hollers.— Paul Begala (@PaulBegala) January 7, 2018
Stephen Miller appeared on State of the Union with Jake Tapper to defend President Trump amid the release of Michael Wolff’s explosive new book and the results were predictably weird https://t.co/Fcptcek4zk— New York Magazine (@NYMag) January 7, 2018
White House Advisor Stephen Miller fakes outrage, goes berserk, forcing Jake Tapper to cut interview https://t.co/8EfF6C7Kad— New Civil Rights (@newcivilrights) January 7, 2018
The Stephen Miller paradox is that he is both the perfect spokesperson for this administration yet the worst possible voice they could put forward. Incompetence and malevolence turned up to 11.

Mind blowing @jaketapper interview moments ago with unhinged Stephen Miller. Must be watched in its entirety. Tapper did the best he could with a stupid, obsequious Roy Cohn wannabe.
