Pultizer Prize, Tony Award and Grammy Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) does "not throw away" his shot at a cold open on last night's Saturday Night Live.
Humble as ever, Miranda acknowledges that Broadway stardom doesn't always translate to the rest of the world. “I’m fresh off a long run performing in my musical ‘Hamilton,'” Miranda said, “Which fortunately is one of the biggest hits ever on Broadway so that means most of you at home have no idea who I am.”
He then serves up a parody of one of the big songs from Hamilton, "My Shot," with (practically) no mention of politics. Miranda's effusive enthusiasm is a joy.
"My name is Lin-Manuel, I am hosting SNL and I am not throwing away my shot."
Here's a great diversion from the ongoing Trump scandals.
