According to TMZ, Nike is prepared to drop professional boxer Manny Paquaio over his recent "gays are worse than animals" comment.
"Have you seen any animal having male-to-male or female-to-female relations?" Pacquiao said on a Filipino television station earlier this week. "If you have male-to-male or female-to-female [relationships], then people are worse than animals."
Pacquaio later issued an apology.
The two sides have had a relationship since at least 2006 -- but we're told Nike is particularly disturbed after Pacquiao said gay people are "worse than animals" ... and intend to drop the boxer for good.
We're told the move is not official yet -- but there have been multiple discussions and we're told it appears to be heading in that direction.
Paquaio's management has not responded to requests for comment.
