Since the world met Caitlyn Jenner yesterday, one item of note was that Caitlyn spells her name with a "C" and not a "K" which would have fallen in line with the Kardashian tradition.
In new info made available from Jenner's Vanity Fair interview, Jenner shares that it was considered but in the midst of finding a new name, she went for the road less travelled.
"It's one of the hardest things in life — choosing your own name," she said. "One way she attempted to come up with ideas was by watching the Miss America pageant."
Other names in consideration were apparently Cathy and Heather, but Jenner's assistant , Rhonda, came up with the name Caitlyn and it resonated.
Jenner's first response was "I love that name, too!" but after thinking on the spelling, Jenner felt it was time to break in a new direction and not use the "K."
And that is how Caitlyn Jenner came to be.
