In a matter of four hours and three minutes, Caitlyn Jenner set the new world record for 1 million Twitter followers in the shortest length of time.
From the Hollywood Reporter:
Barack Obama set the previous record in May with his new account.
Jenner sent her first Tweet Monday morning at 9:17 a.m. PST — a bombshell reveal of her Vanity Fair cover, which contained her new name as well as her first photo following her transition — and reached 1 million followers at approximately 1:20 p.m. PST.
Within her first hour, Jenner had amassed 280,000 followers and the numbers quickly grew from there. "Caitlyn Jenner" began trending on Twitter just minutes after she joined.
