KTLA gossip guy Sam Rubin went on a rant this morning over the fact that Diane Sawyer has announced a two hour primetime interview with Bruce Jenner later this month.
Pundits are guessing the interview will cover the announcement that Bruce Jenner may transition from male to female soon.
However, Rubin is not having any of it. From his rant this morning:
"I don't care if Bruce Jenner is transitioning from one gender to another, one political party to another, one religion to another. What I do care about is that Jenner has been a passive participant in what can best be described as a cultural crime that has gone on for years."
"All this Kardashian stuff is self-perpetuating junk. And we all know it. If Diane Sawyer wants to have any credibility, that is what the conversation should be about."
Sam Rubin thinks it's a better idea to spend two primetime hours exposing more Kardashian "junk" rather than possibly educate American on the issue of being transgender?
I get that Rubin is done with the Kardashian phenomenon. So am I.
So, why suggest Sawyer explore the K family anymore? That's just giving more and more coverage to them.
If the interview is going to explore Jenner's possible transition, it could serve as a powerful tool to help Americans more clearly understand the issues transgender folks experience.
Keep in mind, this is the guy who got in hot water a while back because he couldn't tell Samuel L. Jackson and Laurence Fishburne apart.
