Grammy Award winner Melissa Manchester releases her first album of new music in ten years today with the jazz-inflected You Gotta Love The Life.

With You Gotta Love the Life, singer-songwriter Melissa Manchester celebrates not only 40 years as a Grammy-winning performer and songwriter, but a renewed artistic freedom. Funded through crowd-sourcing, Manchester extols the opportunity to make the album she wanted to make:

“This is an adventure I would not have wanted to miss. The album is my testimony of what I know to be true – not anyone else’s version of what a good idea would be – my own hard-won sense of who I am, what I have been through and what I have learned.”

The album features special guests Al Jarreau, Dave Koz, Keb’ Mo’, Joe Sample (in one of his last recordings), Dionne Warwick and Stevie Wonder.

Highlights include a lovely cover of the Ronettes' "Be My Baby;" an excellent mash-up of "Let's Face The Music And Dance/From This Moment On;" and the title song, "You Gotta Love The Life," where Manchester ruminates on the ups and downs of a life in music - something she knows very well having enjoyed 40+ successful years in entertainment.

“Feelin’ for You”, (#2 debut on the smooth jazz charts last month), displays excellent chemistry & musicality with Keb’ Mo’. You can listen to the track below.

The production is top-notch, and Manchester's voice is in excellent form.

The album is currently available on Amazon and all other major music outlets.
