The former governor of New York, Mario Cuomo, passed away Thursday, January 1st at the age of 82.
Cuomo, father of current New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (who was sworn into office for his second term today), served three terms in office, 1983 to 1994.
I lived in New York state all of those years, and I remember his handling of the state's affairs as very solid.
He is especially remembered for his outstanding speech at the 1984 Democratic Convention.
