NYC: OLIVER! presented by the National Asian Artists Project starts tonight

My uber-talented friends at the National Asian Artists Project in NYC will be presenting a terrific production of the Broadway classic OLIVER! starting tonight for only four performances at the Pershing Square Signature Theater on 42nd Street.

Via press release:

National Asian Artists Project (NAAP) will present the classic Charles Dickens musical, OLIVER! this June as part of the Re-Discover Series.

With book, music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, OLIVER! has become one of the most popular musicals in the world.

NAAP will be presenting the London version of this show under the direction of Steven Eng, choreography by Baayork Lee and musical direction by Kevin Farrell.

Last year I teamed up once again with my HELLO, DOLLY! collaborator (and partner in crime) Lee Roy Reams to help create a beautiful production of DOLLY! with the folks from NAAP, which exceeded my wildest dreams.

The work these artists do is Broadway caliber. And these projects showcase Asian-American actors in roles they might not normally get the opportunity to bring to life. And they should.

Performances are tonight, tomorrow and Saturday at 7:30pm plus a matinee on Saturday at 2pm.

I really urge you to go celebrate the great work these folks do. Click here for ticket info.

Big hugs to all my peeps there, especially dear Baayork Lee and Zoie Lam. Break a leg tonight!
