"Fast and Furious" star Paul Walker dead at 40

Paul Walker has died at the age of 40 after he was involved in a single-car accident and explosion on Saturday (November 30) in Southern California, according to TMZ.

Walker, 40, who was in five of the six films about illegal street racing and heists, was a passenger in a friend's car and was attending a charity event, according to a message linked to his Twitter account.

Paul was in town to attend a car show to support the Philippines typhoon relief effort and he was taking friends out for drives in his new Porsche GT car. The crash happened during one of the test drives that afternoon.

The Fast and the Furious actor was in the Porsche when the driver lost control and slammed into a post or tree in Santa Clarita. The car then burst into flames. Race car driver Roger Rodas was with Walker. Both men lost their lives.

The L.A. County Coroner cannot identify Paul‘s body and needs dental records to complete to process. As a result, the autopsy will be delayed until later in the week.

Deepest sympathies to the families.
