Kate Middleton has given birth, and the royal baby is...

A boy! Weighing in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces, according to the palace, and born at 4:24 p.m.

That’s bigger than William when he was born. The long-awaited little one arrived Monday, July 22nd.

Kate and the baby are said to be doing well and staying in St. Mary’s Hospital in London overnight.

As for a name, that hasn’t been revealed yet and probably won’t be for a little while. William’s name wasn’t revealed for a week.

Kate headed to St. Mary’s Hospital in London from Kensington Palace at around 6 a.m. Monday morning. William was with her; he is taking paternity leave, the first royal to do so.

The little one’s title is His Royal Highness, Prince of Cambridge. Will and Kate are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. They had kept the baby’s gender a surprise — even from themselves — until the birth.
