Anna Greenberg, who was a huge fan of Broadway star Bette Midler, died last month after battling a rare form of cancer -- rhabdomyosarcoma -- at the age of 28.
Only days before Anna passed away, Bette, whom Greenberg met last December, called Anna in the hospital and sang to her 'Wind Beneath My Wings.'
Watch the video above. Bette begins singing at the 4:45 mark.
Very touching. And wonderful that Bette Midler would take the time to make Anna's dream come true. That's a great star.
Bette is currently starring in the hit play I'll Eat You Last on Broadway.

On Behalf of the Greenberg Family, we say thank you. I am one of Anna's 5 older brothers and we are amazed by our beautiful sister's story. She touched so many people’s lives through the American Cancer Society, March of Dimes and living her life through "Annatude."
ReplyDeleteWhen we were buried my sister, I had to chuckle, because my grandmother is buried right next to her with the same initials as Anna (ACG). My Grandma remarried after my grandpa died and her new name was Bloom. So on my grandma’s tombstone it reads Adeline Cecelia Greenberg Bloom, but Bloom is under Cecelia. So if you read Top/Bottom it reads Cecelia (C.C.) Bloom, the character of Bette Midler on "Beaches." I am Anna’s Brother who is a Captain in the Army and she would always call me her Hero, but Anna was my Hero and my number one cheerleader.
Her life story is beautiful and unfortunate, but Anna lived up to her name which means gracious.
