Super awesome 12 year old writes to Supreme Court Justice Roberts about Prop 8
Daniel, the 12-year-old son of the Leffew Family in Northern California, wrote an amazing letter to Chief Justice Roberts about the Prop 8 and DOMA cases, after reading that Roberts has two adopted children of his own.
From the YouTube description: "So our kids know that Prop 8 is coming to the Supreme Court soon and that could be a very big deal for our family. When they found out that one of the Justices hearing the case had two adopted children, they said, "Hey! They're just like us!"...and so, in a moment that made his dads very proud, Daniel decided to write a letter to Justice Roberts in the hopes that he will see that our families are not so different."
Daniel, suffering from a genetic disorder affecting the left side of his face, urges Roberts to strike down California's Proposition 8. He says his fathers provided him and his sister with a wonderful life when no one else wanted to, and their family should be treated no differently than others.
Hearing Daniel read his letter is pretty powerful. These dads are doing a great job raising their family.
Last week National Organization for Marriage Chairman John Eastman made some particularly ugly comments regarding Justice Roberts and his family by calling adopted children "second-best".
