"It's My Party" movie trailer

When Michael was still VP of Publicity at Varese Sarabande Records, the soundtrack to this film came to the label and Michael pushed the label to release the soundtrack to this excellent indie movie by Randal Kleiser.
It's very touching and has an amazing all-star cast including Eric Roberts, Gregory Harrison, Olivia Newton-John, George Segal, Bruce Davison, Marlee Matlin and Lee Grant. I never saw the movie trailer until today.

It's a beautiful movie, and a beautiful soundtrack by Basil Poledouris. I used to play the soundtrack all the time. Thoughtful, sensitive and perfect for the film it's written for.

Synopsis: Eric Roberts portrays a successful architect who throws a farewell party for friends and family after he learns he is losing his hard-fought battle against the AIDS virus in this vibrant film that co-stars Gregory Harrison.

  1. I saw this movie when I was very young! It's a very strong and compassionate perception of life, I was very touched and scared about how fragile life is.

The score is amazing and the CD is great, "I will always love you" from Dolly Parton played on the movie is not included on the CD tho.

Olivia's role is very small, she doesn't even have many dialogues, I would say her performance was more about talking with her eyes and expressing her feelings with her looks.

"Don't Cut me down" was a great choice from Gaia! that song talks about a tree, begging to not be cut, like the main character of the movie dying from AIDS.

    Thanks for sharing!
