Diana Degarmo - Don't Cry Out Loud

First let me say I'm not the biggest American Idol fan in the world. Back in the day, I watched a bit, but eventually just about every TV show loses my interest.

But I clearly remember being surprised by 16 year old Diana Degarmo (who almost beat out Fantasia for the title) with this performance of "Don't Cry Out Loud." It was her best performance of the 3rd season, and had her final performance equaled this one, she may have won.

Since American Idol, she's gone on to star on Broadway in "Hairspray" and "Hair" as well as the national touring companies of the Broadway musicals "9 To 5" and "Brooklyn."

Just think about being 16 years old and knocking this out on TV for a huge national audience. I'm still impressed.
