Photography: The Men of "Rocky the Musical" on Broadway

Let's face it - any Broadway show puts an an actor through their paces.

But being in the cast of ROCKY on Broadway goes over the top.  These guys have to not only look the part but nail the moves of professional boxers.

You can only catch the show on Broadway until August 17th when the show will close at the Winter Garden Theater, so you may need to hurry if you want to see the spectacle that is ROCKY.

But, you can glimpse a bit more here than the show would offer, thanks to Out.com.

Four actors from the cast of ROCKY on Broadway volunteered to be photographed by Cedric Terrell at a studio in Chelsea—with just the barest of essentials.

The return of American Dance Machine

In the 1970s and 1980s, the American Dance Machine was a major force in preserving choreography from significant Broadway musicals.  Now that idea has been resurrected in the form of American Dance Machine for the 21st Century.

American Dance Machine for the 21st Century, an organization committed to preserving the heritage of musical film and theatre choreography, will stage recreations of work by Susan Stroman, Jerome Robbins, Hermes Pan and Bob Fosse in a Manhattan workshop presentation Nov. 14 at New York City Center.

"Each piece has been coached by artists intimately involved in their original productions," according to ADM21. Numbers from Broadway's Contact, Jerome Robbins' Broadway and Big Deal, as well as the film "Lovely to Look At," will be presented. The evening is directed by artistic director Margo Sappington and will feature live music with musical direction by Eugene Gwozdz.

The 6 PM Nov. 14 show is presented at City Center's Studio 4.

New Yorkers dance in Miasha's video "Everybody's Beautiful"

The video, directed by P.R. Brown (who has worked with Alicia Keys and Prince), features cameos of random New Yorkers (including at least one gay man) who Miasha met on the street and recorded dancing with her smartphone.

“People often feel vulnerable when they dance,” said Miasha. “But when people watch other people dance, they feel happy and they see beauty and honesty. I wanted to capture the diversity we have here every day and show how just by watching a stranger lose him or herself in the moment for a few seconds, we can feel that same beauty. We took a boom box to the Lower East Side, and with a tiny camera in hand, went up to 55 total strangers blasting the song, and asked them to ‘break it down.’ Of course, being in NYC, they all said yes!”
