Protester Rushes Stage At Hillary Clinton Rally, Clinton Doesn't Flinch

The Independent is reporting on an animal rights activist who rushed the stage at a Hillary Clinton rally as the former Secretary of State was speaking.

Hillary Clinton was rushed at by an animal rights protester during a speech on the economy, the second time in a week. Ms Clinton was talking in Des Moines, Iowa, and facing the other way as a woman launched herself over the barrier and towards the stage.

She has been named as 26-year-old Kelsey Atkinson from campaign group Direct Action Everywhere, which fights for “total animal liberation”. Just as the protester got to the steps, Secret Service staff pulled Ms Atkinson away.

You'll note as the Secret Service take the protester down in the background Hillary doesn't even flinch or break stride as she continues talking on her policy proposals.

My girl Hillary is one cool customer :)

Your Luggage's Journey Through The Airport

From Gizmodo:
I just cannot stop watching this hypnotizing video created by Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport and edited by Thrillist. They strapped a 360-degree camera on a checked bag and documented a dizzying POV as the luggage made its way through an insane maze of elevators, conveyor belts and endless shelves.
But what I want to know is: how does the bag know where it's going???

Hi-Res Video Of Earth From International Space Station

Check out the first high-resolution footage from the International Space Station's ultra-hi-res camera.

Very cool.

By the way, the video notes that for those worried about privacy, the camera's lens will not be able to make out individual's faces.

New York's Tallest Apartment Building

Located in NYC, 432 Park Avenue is the tallest residential building in the Western Hemisphere.

The view from the top penthouse is spectacular and sold at a spectacular price: $95 million.

The purchase also comes with an E ticket - the building sways 4-5 feet in the wind.

Think about that...

Paramagnetic paint is awesome (but is it real?)

Although this video has been making the internet rounds, and it seems like a very cool idea - it appears that it is not the real deal.

Yet.

Apparently, the video is taken from the end of a tutorial for Adobe After Effects, video editing software.

BUT - it seems back in Nissan was playing with a process very much like what is described in the video above.

From the rumor-busting website Snopes:

Before the vehicle is painted, a special polymer containing the special 'paramagnetic' iron oxide particles is applied to the car’s body. An applied electric current then adjusts the spacing of small crystals within the iron oxide particles and therefore affects their ability to reflect light and change color.

The process is perfect for metal objects like cars because a continuous small current is needed to maintain the desired color. When the vehicle is switched off, the car returns to a default color of white.

Watch the viral video below that started the urban legend.

Study shows fist bumps transfer 90% fewer germs than handshake

It's not only hip to be cool, but it's healthier.

A new study shows a fist bump transfers 90% less bacteria than a traditional handshake.

The ever popular high five gave the gift of about 50% of the germs of a handshake.

Via Vox:

Their methods for reaching this conclusion were rather interesting: the scientists used rubber gloves and spread them with a thick layer of E. coli bacteria. They then exchanged fist bumps, hand shakes, and high fives with researchers who were wearing clean rubber gloves, randomly varying the intensity and duration of the greetings.

One of the study authors, Dr. Dave Whitworth, a senior lecturer at Aberystwyth University, had this message for the public: "People rarely think about the health implications of shaking hands. If the general public could be encouraged to fist-bump, there is genuine potential to reduce the spread of infectious diseases."

Take a ride in Google's Self-Driving Car

Google unveiled its self-driving car yesterday at Recode's Code Conference in Southern California.

How would you like to get in a car, push a button, and have the car drive you to your destination while you relax?

From the folks at Google Self-Driving Car Project: "Fully autonomous driving has always been the goal of our project, because we think this could improve road safety and help lots of people who can't drive."
