Trailer: "Spider-Man - Homecoming"

Homecoming brings Peter Parker back to high school. The early Spidey suit he wears features web wings, a design only seen in the earliest of Spider-Man comic book appearances. Spider-Man, played by British actor Tom Holland, is shown scaling the Washington Monument, holding a sliced-in-half ferry boat together with his webbing and dealing with basic high school stuff like staring too long at a crush, zoning out in Science class and preparing for homecoming prom.

Robert Downey Jr. is also in the preview, with Tony Stark serving as a mentor for the fledgling superhero. “Don’t do anything I would do. And definitely don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,” Stark tells Parker. “There’s a little gray area in there and that’s where you operate.”

Broadway: "Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark" adds another injury to long list of accidents

The Friday night performance of "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" will go on despite a cast member's onstage injury one night earlier.

The Thursday show was interrupted near the start of its second act when dancer Daniel Curry's right ankle became trapped in a hydraulic stage lift inside the Foxwoods Theater.

Witnesses said the 42nd St. theater echoed with Curry's loud scream as stunned audience members looked on.

A black curtain descended to cover the stage for about 10 minutes before Curry, 23, was freed by emergency first responders.

A spokesman for the play said mechanical failure was not to blame for the mishap and the Friday night show would not be affected.

"The technical elements of the show are all in good working order and we can confirm that equipment malfunction was not a factor in the incident," said spokesman Rick Miramontez. "Our thoughts are with Daniel and his family."

Curry is listed in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital Center, but is the latest in a long list of injuries that have plagued the show.

Looks pretty cool. And seems to take the story in a new direction in some ways.

Spiderman the musical finally opens - read the reviews

Most reviews say Spiderman 2.0 is an improvement, but still not perfect theatre.  So I think it's fair to say the show has received mixed reviews.

Box office is very strong right now though, so it will hang around a while.  Whether or not it will sell strongly for many years - enough years to recoup - is another story.
