The further adventures of Reese Witherspoon, an Atlanta police officer and a dash cam

"My name is Reese Witherspoon! ... IT'LL BE ON NATIONAL NEWS!!!"

Someone forgot to tell Ms. Witherspoon that the dash cam of a cop car keeps recording, even when you're handcuffed in the car.

Video: Reese Witherspoon to cop - "Do you know my name?"

TMZ has posted the dashcam video of Reese Witherspoon's now famous arrest during a traffic stop last month.

Reese got in the officer's face and annoyed him to the point that he arrested her for disorderly conduct. Here are some of Reese's quotes during the incident:

Reese: "Do you know my name sir?"
Officer: "Don't need to know."
Reese "You don't NEED to know my name?"
Officer: "Not quite yet."
Reese: "YOU'RE ABOUT TO FIND OUT WHO I AM!"

Reese: "I have done nothing against the law."
Officer: "Yes you did, you didn't obey my orders."
Reese: "I HAVE TO OBEY YOUR ORDERS??"

Reese: "I'm now being arrested and handcuffed??"

Reese: "I'm an American citizen ... I'm allowed to stand on American ground."

Reese: "You better not arrest me."

Reese: "I'm being anti-American?"
Officer: "Yes, please sit down."
Reese: "Wow!"

Reese: "You're harassing me as an American citizen"

And the best line -- "I'm obstructing your justice?"

Reese Witherspoon eventually issued an apology:

"I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. The words I used that night definitely do not reflect who I am. I have nothing but respect for the police and I'm very sorry for my behavior."

Reese Witherspoon to police officer: "Do you know my name?"

Reese Witherspoon apparently got into a bit of trouble last Friday as her husband was stopped by a police officer for driving while intoxicated after apparently swerving in and out of his lane.

Husband Jim Toth blew 0.139 on the Breathalyzer test, the report said, and was charged with driving under the influence.

During the traffic stop, reports say Witherspoon got out of her car more than once after being told to stay put by the officer.  Eventually, the "Walk The Line" star addressed the officer and said "Do you know my name?" She also said: "You're about to find out who I am" and "You're about to be on national news," according to the report.

Oh dear.  No one ever comes out on the other side of that line well, do they?

Reese was charged with disorderly conduct.  She has since stated "I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said."
