Donald Trump lies about being late to meet the Queen of England

 At last night's rally for Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, the Trumpster claimed that the 'fake news' erroneously reported he had been 12 minutes late for his meeting with Queen Elizabeth, despite the fact that news cameras captured the monarch waiting for the president to arrive.

“I landed and I’m on the ground and I’m waiting with the king’s and the queen’s guards. I’m waiting. I was about 15 minutes early and I’m waiting with my wife and that’s fine. Hey, it’s the queen, right? We can wait. But I’m a little early.

"So I then go up and meet the queen and she is fantastic. We then go up and we have tea. And I didn’t know this it was supposed to last for 15 minutes but it lasted for like an hour because we got along. We got along!

"So here’s the story by the fake news. ‘The president was 15 minutes late for the Queen!’ Wrong.”

Queen Elizabeth II Vows To Protect LGBTs From Discrimination

During Queen Elizabeth II's address to Parliament today, her Majesty specifically promised to protect LGBTs from discrimination.

From the speech:

“My ministers will seek to enhance rights and protections in the modern workplace. My  government will make further progress to tackle the gender pay gap and discrimination against people on the basis of their race, faith, gender, disability or sexual orientation.”

Additionally, there was conspicuously no mention of President Trump visiting the UK this fall causing some to wonder if the trip has now been cancelled.

Queen Elizabeth's Christmas Address - "Light Can Triumph Over Darkness"

Queen Elizabeth II released her annual Christmas message Friday, emphasizing that light can triumph over darkness after a difficult year.

The Queen also mentioned how she enjoyed watching great-grandchildren decorate the Christmas tree.

Queen Elizabeth Set To Become Britain's Longest Ruling Monarch

On September 9th Queen Elizabeth will break the record held by her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria, and become Britain’s longest-ruling monarch.

Elizabeth only became queen due to a quirk of history after her uncle Edward VIII abdicated because of his love for American divorcee Wallis Simpson and the crown passed to her father George VI when she was 10 years old. She was just 25 when she became Queen Elizabeth II on Feb. 6, 1952 on the death of her father.

At the time she was on tour in Kenya with her husband Prince Philip, who has been by her side throughout her reign. “In a way I didn’t have an apprenticeship. My father died much too young and so it was all a very sudden kind of taking on and making the best job you can,” she said 40 years later.

She was crowned queen of Britain and other realms, including Australia and Canada, on June 2, 1953, in a televised ceremony in Westminster Abbey. She became the 40th monarch in a royal line that goes back to William the Conqueror, who took the throne in 1066 after winning the Battle of Hastings.

I saw the fascinating play The Audience starring the brilliant Helen Mirren as "Queen Elizabeth" in the West End. The drama chronicles the relationships Elizabeth has had with the many prime ministers during her reign.

What an interesting life Elizabeth has led.

Marriage equality: Queen ascents, Governor vetoes

Bryan Fischer's daily dose of fear mongering featuring Queen Elizabeth II

If you ever needed a good example of "gay fear mongering" from folks like Bryan Fischer, this is it.

The above was tweeted by the notorious Mr. Fischer in reference to Queen Elizabeth II's plans to sign a document in public tomorrow called the "21st Century Commonwealth Magna Carta," 

One particular line in this document is making headlines around the world because people have interpreted it as the first time Queen Elizabeth will openly support gay rights in her 61-year reign.  While the document alludes to LGBT discrimination, it doesn't actually mention gays or lesbians.

The charter, dubbed a ‘21st Century Commonwealth Magna Carta’ declares: ‘We are implacably opposed to all forms of discrimination, whether rooted in gender, race, colour, creed, political belief or other grounds.’ The ‘other grounds’ is intended to refer to sexuality – but specific reference to ‘gays and lesbians’ was omitted in deference to Commonwealth countries with draconian anti-gay laws. Sources close to the Royal Household said she is aware of the implications of the charter’s implicit support of gay rights and commitment to gender equality.

While I applaud the Queen for a welcome step forward, let's go back to Mr. Fischer's tweet.

"Active and aggressive discrimination against Christians..."  Now does "whether rooted in gender, race, color, creed, political belief or other grounds" sound like "active and aggressive" Christian discrimination?

And btw - homosexuality remains illegal in 41 of the 54 Commonwealth nations.

This is how these clowns operate.  Waving red flags and stirring a pot that isn't even on simmer.
