LGBTQ Nation: While crime overall in major cities has declined over recent years, a new study shows hate crimes increased 9% over the last year. That makes for the 5th consecutive increase and the largest jump since 2015.

Morning Consult: New polling shows the second round of debates among Democratic presidential candidates did little to shake up current standings. Thirty-two percent of Democratic voters still say former Vice President Joe Biden is their first choice, just 1 percentage point down from MC's polling after the first debates. None of the candidates shifted more than 2 points.

Wall-Street Journal: While median income in the U.S. has gone up 14% in 30 years, housing prices have gone up 290% and college tuition has risen 311% making life for the middle class even more difficult.

Out Music: Swedish pop star Tove Lo drops her latest single, "Bad as the Boys," a light, breezy, summertime pop bop which finds the singer teamed-up with Finnish singer ALMA.

“'Bad as the Boys' is about my first summer girl crush when I was in my teens," says the singer. "It’s about that sting you feel in your heart when you know summer is coming to an end and so is the romance.”

Morning Consult Poll Shows Biden Still Leads In Dem Primary Race


On a daily basis, Morning Consult is surveying over 5,000 registered voters across the United States on the 2020 presidential election.

Every Monday, MC shares the latest survey data, offering an in-depth guide to how the race for the Democratic nomination is shaping up.

The below are the results from Democratic primary voters nationwide.

The latest results are based on 16,504 survey interviews conducted between July 8-14, 2019.

As you can see, former Vice President Joe Biden continues to lead the pack with 32 percent support, with Sen. Bernie Sanders in second place at 19 percent.

Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Kamala Harris (D-CA) place third and fourth with 14 percent and 13 percent respectively.

And Mayor Pete Buttigieg rounds out the Top 5 at 5 percent.

Poll: Mitch McConnell Least Popular U.S. Senator, Bernie Sanders Ranks Most Popular With Constituents


Morning Consult surveyed over 85,000 registered voters to evaluate the job performance of their senators.

Bernie Sanders keeps the title as the most popular senator in America. But it's not all good news: Since our last rankings (just before the election), Sanders approval has dropped 12 points and his disapproval has increased by 9 points.

Mitch McConnell is still the most unpopular senator in America, and the only senator to have an approval rating that is underwater (44% approve, 47% disapprove).
