Donald Trump Botches Bible Reference At Liberty University

Donald Trump bungles Bible verse giving convocation at Liberty University

But remember y'all - Donald Trump is a BIG fan of the Bible.

Donald Trump gave the convocation at Liberty University — a Christian school in Virginia — on Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. day.

And he decided to throw in some scripture.

“Two Corinthians, right?” he announced. “Two Corinthians 3:17. That’s the whole ballgame.”

The Donald seemed to be referencing the second letter to the Corinthians, or “Second Corinthians.”

Not “Two Corinthians.” No one says "Two Corinthians."

Clearly Trump was attempting to curry favor with the verse which reads, “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

Other GOP campaigns and the Twitterverse were thrilled to jump on the bungle:

Director of Faith Outreach for Marco Rubio:

Rapid Response Director for Ted Cruz:

And just a reminder of when Trump was asked his favorite Bible verse...

Bernie Sanders At Liberty University: I Believe In Women's Rights, I Believe In Gay Rights

As Sen. Bernie Sanders says in the first few minutes of his address to Liberty University students today, it's easy to go give speeches and rallies to the folks who already agree with you.

It's much harder, but arguably more important to address those folks who disagree with you in a civil manner to perhaps find common ground and may even learn something.

Watch even just the opening minutes here - Sanders gets a surprisingly warm welcome at the religious university as he sets out some of his differences with the audience before him.

“I believe in women’s rights. And the right of a woman to control her own body. I believe in gay rights and gay marriage.”

If you haven't understood the Bernie Sanders campaign yet, this is a good introduction.
