Olbermann had been hosting "Countdown" on Current TV since June - soon after he got the fired at MSNBC.
In a statement from Keith Olbermann, he says he plans to sue: "It goes almost without saying that the claims against me implied in Current's statement are untrue and will be proved so in the legal actions I will be filing against them presently."
In a statement from Current TV owner Al Gore: "[Current TV] was founded on the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers. Unfortunately these values are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it."
Olbermann's show will be replaced by “Viewpoint with Eliot Spitzer.”

Keith Olbermann: Organized Religion Holding Up Marriage Equality
Via Towleroad.com: Olbermann has moved his Countdown program to Current TV, where he used one of his special comments to, first, proclaim that gay marriage is inevitable, and then to blame religion for holding it back.
"Every year the margin by which this country supports this grows," he said of marriage equality. "And within a decade, or perhaps less, it will be universal in this nation. Period."
