MSNBC is reporting that Roger Stone, longtime ally of Donald Trump, has invoked his Fifth Amendment right to decline to testify and provide documents to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

In the letter dated December 3, Grant Smith, Stone's attorney, wrote, “Mr. Stone’s invocation of his Fifth Amendment privilege must be understood by all to be the assertion of a Constitutional right by an innocent citizen who denounces secrecy.”

While I'm certain the Trumpster will appreciate the loyalty, there was a time when Trump had a certain public opinion on folks who 'take the 5th.'

This is a man who maintains LBJ ordered the killing of JFK, & the Bush family peddled in drug running & pedophilia.

Trump Lawyer Will Plead The Fifth In Stormy Daniels Case

A court filing shows Donald Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen will assert 5th amendment rights in all proceedings of the ongoing Stormy Daniels case.

You'll recall in September of 2016 during the presidential campaign, Donald Trump told a campaign crowd in Iowa, "The mob takes the Fifth. If you're innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?"

Michael Cohen said he will assert his constitutional right against self-incrimination in the lawsuit by Stormy Daniels because of the ongoing criminal investigation against him.

Report: Trump Lawyer Michael Cohen Intends To Plead 5th Amendment Against Self-Incrimination

Stormy Daniels' attorney Michael Avenatti just announced during an interview with MSNBC's Nicole Wallace that he has been told Donald Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen intends to "plead the 5th amendment against self incrimination" and "will seek an emergency stay" against the defamation lawsuit.

You'll recall that in September of 2016, during the presidential campaign, Trump told a crowd in Iowa, “The mob takes the Fifth. If you're innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”

Wonder if Trump considers his personal lawyer "the mob?"

Michael Flynn To Invoke Fifth Amendment, Refuse To Release Documents Related To Trump/Russia Debacle

Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn will invoke his Fifth Amendment rights and defy a Senate Intelligence Committee subpoena for documents related to the Trump-Russia probe.

From CNN:

President Trump's former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn won't provide records to the Senate Intelligence Committee and will invoke his 5th Amendment rights in response to a subpoena from the committee, according to a source close to Flynn.

Flynn's refusal to cooperate comes as he faces scrutiny in several inquiries, including on Capitol Hill and a federal grand jury that has issued subpoenas to associates of the ex-national security adviser.

This move will also intensify scrutiny over Trump's decision to hire him initially for the job and his decision to keep him on staff for 18 days after he was warned by former acting attorney general Sally Yates that Flynn may have been compromised by the Russians.

The Senate Intelligence Committee had asked him to produce all records over his communications with Russian officials by this Wednesday. But Flynn is expected to send a letter later today invoking his 5th Amendment Rights.

The source close to Flynn said it would be "highly imprudent for him not to exercise his 5th Amendment rights" given that several members of Congress have called for his prosecution.
