Maybe it's time for Hillary Clinton to take up a new hobby in 2018 pic.twitter.com/sbE78rA5At— VANITY FAIR (@VanityFair) December 23, 2017
Folks were not happy about a woman as accomplished as Clinton being told to "take up knitting."
Hey STOP TELLING WOMEN WHAT THE F-CK THEY SHOULD DO OR CAN DO. Get over your mommy issues.— Patricia Arquette (@PattyArquette) December 27, 2017
I rarely have any strong views, or any at all as to Vanity Fair, expectations and interest too low, but that thing on Clinton? WTF? Not just *stupidly* sexist but also explicitly, smugly ageist. You have decades of accumulated global experience too offer? Go knit.— Guy Gavriel Kay (@guygavrielkay) December 28, 2017
Hey, @VanityFair, how we feeling this morning? Tired? Sexist? Hopefully, the criticism you received for that awful video on Hillary made you wake up wanting to do better. Quick tip: don't tell one of the most accomplished women in the world to take up knitting.— Shauna DeBono (@ShaunaRDeBono) December 27, 2017
In any case, Donald Trump (who has no time for golf or watching Fox News or reading anything the least bit negative about Hillary Clinton) chimed in today on the subject chiding Vanity Fair and somehow invoking the name of Anna Wintour, the editor in chief of Vogue - a completely different publication from Vanity Fair (other than that "V").
Vanity Fair, which looks like it is on its last legs, is bending over backwards in apologizing for the minor hit they took at Crooked H. Anna Wintour, who was all set to be Amb to Court of St James’s & a big fundraiser for CH, is beside herself in grief & begging for forgiveness!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 28, 2017
Well, this will surely go into the "Who am I? Why am I here?" moment for sure.— Holly O'Reilly (@AynRandPaulRyan) December 28, 2017
Dotard Trump forgets that Anna Wintour is with Vogue, not Vanity Fair.#ThursdayThoughts pic.twitter.com/tmpVmRKRTo
Um.. Anna Wintour is at Vogue, not Vanity Fair. Trump with FAKE NEWS once again. pic.twitter.com/1SFjtZSULv— Dani Bostick (@danibostick) December 28, 2017
Anna Wintour is at @Vogue, not @VanityFair. I am telling you this moron will nuke the wrong Korea. pic.twitter.com/INapC1aqu5— Thinker (@areta) December 28, 2017
Let me help you out here because apparently Melania didn't.— Red T Raccoon (@RedTRaccoon) December 28, 2017
Anna Wintour has been the editor-in-chief of VOGUE since 1988, NOT VANITY FAIR.
Wrong magazine idiot.
That's her in the picture holding her magazine in case you think this is fake news. pic.twitter.com/j0pHV2hWvk
In a statement on Wednesday, Vanity Fair said of the video, "It was an attempt at humor and we regret that it missed the mark."
