ABC Cancels Roseanne Barr's Sitcom After Ugly, Racist Twitter Rant

Roseanne Barr lost her mind today tweeting a vicious, racist rant that eventually led to her renewed sitcom being canceled by ABC.

ABC has pulled the plug on the revival “Roseanne.”

The move comes after series star Roseanne Barr made a comment on Twitter Tuesday morning referring to former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett as looking like the offspring of the “Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes.” Jarrett, an African-American, was born in Iran to American parents.

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said in a statement.

Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger voiced his support for the cancellation, tweeting “There was only one thing to do here, and that was the right thing.”

Barr deleted her tweet about Jarrett not long after posting it. She followed it up with an apology which read, “I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste. I am now leaving Twitter.”

Out lesbian Wanda Sykes resigned her position as a consulting producer before ABC could cancel the show:

Also, out Roseanne star Sara Gilbert spoke out against the ugly rant:

Roseanne’s recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least.

Bible-Carrying "Christian" Screams Wild Rant At In-N-Out Burger

According to Raw Story, the man in the video above had been hanging around an In-N-Out Burger in Redding, California, most of the day holding the door open for customers with one hand and his Bible in the other.

At some point, said man became enraged that he had not been properly thanked by the restaurant employees for holding the door.

So he went berserk ripping plastic plants out of their planters while screaming:

“Am I gonna get busted? No!” the man shouts at the beginning of the video as customers leave their tables to get away from the commotion.

He goes on the vent loudly about the restaurant “bitching about someone holding a f*cking door for people,” which he claims to be doing because he’s a “f*cking Christian” who’s got to “stand up for other f*cking Christians.”

I don't think sounds very "Christ-like" but hey, I'm not an expert...

Kansas Couple Denied Intervention On Same-Sex Marriage Law Suit Based On "Theft of Marriage"

A married couple in Kansas, Phillip and Sandra Unruh, has filed for and been denied the opportunity to intervene in the state's same-sex marriage lawsuit.

In what was a very "unlikely to succeed" strategy, the Unruhs filed a brief saying that allowing same-sex couples to marry is "deeply disturbing," "inflicts profound harm" on them, and is tantamount to a literal theft of their own marriage.

In other words, the Unruhs claim is that "marriage" is for straight people and giving it to gays means stealing it from heterosexuals.

A Harper, Kansas couple is upset after a judge said they can't be a part of a same-sex marriage lawsuit filed earlier this month. The judge claimed they could not be parties in the casebecause their views will be represented. So now, they're writing an amicus brief to have their opinions heard.

"We were disappointed that we weren't allowed to become parties in the court case but we are also excited about the fact that the judge invited us to file an amicus brief which means friend of the court," Phillip Unruh said. "It means the judge has allowed us into the court case and will consider our written arguments."

As thrilled as Phillip Unruh may be, just about anyone can file an amicus brief.

The judge in the case gave the Unruhs until 5pm tomorrow to file their amicus brief.

Can't wait for that one!

In related news, the crackpots over at Westboro Baptist Church (located in Kansas) have filed a similar request to intervene in the state's marriage equality fight.  Expect a similar rebuke from the court on that one, too.

Rep. Michelle Bachmann: President Obama wants undocumented minors in US for medical experimentation

Rep. Michele Bachmann says that President Obama wants to bring tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors into America and make them Wards of the state so they can be used in medical experiments.

"Now President Obama is trying to bring all of those foreign nationals, those illegal aliens to the country and he has said that he will put them in the foster care system," Bachmann said. "That's more kids that you can see how - we can't imagine doing this, but if you have a hospital and they are going to get millions of dollars in government grants if they can conduct medical research on somebody, and a Ward of the state can't say 'no,' a little kid can't say 'no' if they're a Ward of the state; so here you could have this institution getting millions of dollars from our government to do medical experimentation and a kid can't even say 'no.' It's sick".

The narrative is a misreading of policy at the Boston Children's Hospital, which actually has policies in place to protect Wards of the state. Bachmann is twisting facts and language to draw an image of madcap experiments being performed on children who are deemed wards by virtue of the fact that they are in the US without documentation.

US House stenographer rushes mic during budget vote

While it wasn't heard on the C-Span feed, during the vote counting in the House last night, a stenographer walked to the open mic and began ranting about God and deception.

From CNN:

"Do not be deceived. God shall not be mocked. A House divided cannot stand," she said, according to a House GOP aide. After a few seconds, she was escorted out by the Sergeant-at-Arms, but an audio recording by Todd Zwillich of Public Radio International captured the rest of her rant.

"He will not be mocked, He will not be mocked, (don't touch me) He will not be mocked. The greatest deception here, is that this is not one nation under God. It never was. Had it been... it would not have been... No. it would not have been... the Constitution would not have been written by Free Masons... and go against God. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God, Lord Jesus Christ."

Officer Shennell S. Antrobus of Capitol Police told CNN that officers have interviewed the woman and that she was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Many officers knew her personally as well, a source said.
