Donald Trump Retweets His Followers Praising Him

Donald Trump spent some of his 'executive time' this morning retweeting praise from his followers.

One tweet he especially liked used a photo of the Trumpster wrapped in a flag proclaiming, "Thank God for Trump!"

He also took a swipe at the NFL as some players over the opening weekend of the new season took a knee during the playing of the national anthem.

Trump tweeted that viewership is down 13%, but he wasn't quite accurate.

CBS had its best opening NFL single-header rating in three years, drawing an average overnight household rating of 10.6 on its slate of five regional single-header games. That's up 23 percent compared to CBS' slate of games in Week 1 last year.

FOX averaged an 8.9 overnight rating on its 1 p.m. regional games, up six percent compared to last year. In its 4 p.m. national window, which featured the Carolina Panthers defeating the Dallas Cowboys, Fox garnered a 15.7 overnight rating, up slightly from last year.

In fact, Panthers-Cowboys drew the second-highest overnight Week 1 ratings in that national window since 2014, and it's the seventh-highest number since 2004, according to Sports Media Watch.

What Trump failed to include is that most other programming, including scripted television shows, have seen drops in their viewership as streaming services like Hulu and Netflix continue to garner more and more customers.

Trump: Everyone Thinks I Deserve The Nobel Peace Prize

Donald Trump was asked by a reporter today at the White House if he felt he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to bring peace to North and South Korea - even though nothing's happened yet.

Trump's response? “Everyone thinks so, but I would never say it."

“I want victory for the world because that’s what we’re talking about. So that’s the only prize I want,” he added.

Trump has famously harbored competitive feelings towards former President Barack Obama.

In 2009, Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."

With absolutely no attempt to hide his involvement, Donald Trump openly gloated about firing former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe on Twitter this morning.

Trump Touts "Great Reviews," Says He's "Unlikely" To Grant Interview With Special Counsel Robert Mueller

Donald Trump, who claims he has no time to watch cable TV, says he got rave reviews for his "performance" yesterday during the televised 54-minute meeting with Congressional leaders.

During the first cabinet meeting of 2018, Trump told the press the "reviews" were so good, he says he got "letters" from news anchors congratulating him on his "performance."

Later, when asked about "letters" of praise, the White House released a list of links to video clips showing positive feedback on the bipartisan meeting.

By the way, I'll mention that as I watched the televised meeting, I was completely aware that the reason Trump allowed the press to stay and view the meeting was specifically meant to GIVE a performance. After the new explosive expose by Michael Wolff where Trump's mental faculties have been questioned, I had no doubt that the Donald was trying to show Americans how stable he can try to be.

Later, at a press event with the Prime Minister of Norway, Trump was asked if he would be willing to sit down with Special Counsel Robert Mueller for a face to face interview regarding the ongoing investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Last June, Trump said he was "100 percent" willing to give testimony under oath. Additionally, his legal team has stressed that he would cooperate with the investigation.

Wellllll, it's a New Year and the Trumpster doesn't seem so inclined to sit down with Mueller now. In fact, he said it was "not likely" since there was "no collusion" with Russia.

In fact, Trump completely dodged giving a direct answer instead repeating the phrase "no collusion" 8 times in the span of a minute and a half.

"What a crowd, what a turnout," Trump said to a crowd of several hundred people surrounding a fire station, according to a White House pool report.

The president reportedly spoke from a ladder between two fire trucks.

"Thank you," Trump said to cheers.

"We love you, you are special, we are here to take care of you," Trump said. "It's going well."

Donald Trump spent his morning on Twitter (for a change) hyping Hurricane Harvey as "the worst storm/hurricane," and congratulating himself for "his" hurricane response.

But not once does he share info on how to get help if you are affected by Harvey. No empathy or humanity in his tweets.

Trump Gets Twice-Daily "Propaganda Document" Filled With Positive Stories About Him

Twice a day since the beginning of the Trump administration, a special folder is prepared for the president. The first document is prepared around 9:30 a.m. and the follow-up, around 4:30 p.m. Former Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and former Press Secretary Sean Spicer both wanted the privilege of delivering the 20-to-25-page packet to President Trump personally, White House sources say.

These sensitive papers, described to VICE News by three current and former White House officials, don’t contain top-secret intelligence or updates on legislative initiatives. Instead, the folders are filled with screenshots of positive cable news chyrons (those lower-third headlines and crawls), admiring tweets, transcripts of fawning TV interviews, praise-filled news stories, and sometimes just pictures of Trump on TV looking powerful.

One White House official said the only feedback the White House communications shop, which prepares the folder, has ever gotten in all these months is: “It needs to be more fucking positive.” That’s why some in the White House ruefully refer to the packet as “the propaganda document.”

Apparently, former Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and former Press Secretary Sean Spicer used to compete about who got to deliver the packet of praise.

It's no wonder Trump thinks his administration is doing better than it really is.

Boy Scouts & Mexican President Call Out Trump For Making Up Congratulatory Phone Calls

During an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Donald Trump said the Boy Scouts called him to say his speech at last week's Jamboree was "the greatest speech that was ever made to them."

The Boy Scouts have countered saying they know of no such phone call being made.

From the AP:

Trump told The Wall Street Journal in an interview published Wednesday, “I got a call from the head of the Boy Scouts saying it was the greatest speech that was ever made to them, and they were very thankful.” Politico published the transcript of the interview.

“We are unaware of any such call,” the Boy Scouts responded in a statement. It specified that neither of the organization’s two top leaders — President Randall Stephenson and Chief Scout Executive Mike Surbaugh — had placed such a call.

The White House had no immediate response to the Boy Scouts’ denial.

Surbaugh apologized last week to members of the scouting community who were offended by the political rhetoric in Trump’s July 24 speech in West Virginia.

Other U.S. presidents have delivered nonpolitical speeches at past jamborees. To the dismay of many parents and former scouts, Trump promoted his political agenda and derided his rivals, inducing some of the scouts in attendance to boo at the mention of former President Barack Obama.

“I want to extend my sincere apologies to those in our Scouting family who were offended by the political rhetoric that was inserted into the jamboree,” Surbaugh said. “That was never our intent.”

During the Boy Scouts section of the interview, Trump grew irritated that a reporter in the room referred to the speech as getting "mixed" reception.

“There was no mix there,” Trump said. “That was a standing ovation from the time I walked out to the time I left, and for five minutes after I had already gone. There was no mix.”

In related news, CBS reports that Trump's recent claim that Mexican President Nieto called him to congratulate him on such a great job on border control is false.

As Mr. Trump welcomed his new Chief of Staff John Kelly to the Cabinet table on Monday, Mr. Trump took time to applaud the work Kelly had done during his time leading the Department of Homeland Security. “At Homeland, what he has done has been nothing short of miraculous,” Mr. Trump said of Kelly.

He went on, saying, “As you know, the border was a tremendous problem and they’re close to 80 percent stoppage. And even the president of Mexico called me — they said their southern border, very few people are coming because they know they’re not going to get through our border, which is the ultimate compliment.”

But Nieto denies that ever happened. In a statement released by the Mexican Foreign Ministry, Nieto “has not recently spoken to President Donald Trump over the telephone.”

So, is Trump lying? Or is he delusional?

Remember when Trump said unemployment numbers were fake?

It's worth noting that the day the Donald took office, the stock market was already at an all-time high after risen nearly 150% from the depth of the great recession to Obama's final day in the White House.

Regarding unemployment, Trump was fortunate to inherit an unemployment rate that had declined from 10% during the worst of the recession to 4.7% as President Obama left office.

Regarding border security, it's good to know Trump says the border is "secure." I guess we don't need to build a wall on the Mexican border now.

Trump Continues To Fixate On Electoral College Win

According to the New York Times, President Trump continues to stew and sulk that he has not received the credit nor the celebration he feels he deserves for landing in the White House.

In the small dining room next to the Oval Office where he works much of the time, President Trump keeps a stack of color-coded maps of the United States representing the results of the 2016 election. The counties he won are blotchy red and span most of the nation.

Mr. Trump sometimes hands the maps out to visitors as a kind of parting gift, and a framed portrait-size version was hung on a wall in the West Wing last week. In conversations, the president dwells on the map and its import, reminding visitors about how wrong the polls were and inflating the scope of his victory.

At the root of Mr. Trump’s unpredictable presidency, according to people close to him, is a deep frustration about attacks on his legitimacy, and a worry that Washington does not see him as he sees himself.

As he careens from one controversy to another, many of them of his own making — like his abrupt decision to fire the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, who was leading an investigation into the president’s associates — Mr. Trump seems determined to prove that he won the election on his own. It was not Russian interference. It was not Mr. Comey’s actions in the case involving Hillary Clinton’s emails. It was not a fluke of the Electoral College system. It was all him.

At times even Trump seems astounded that he is the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Celebrating the House vote on Trumpcare legislation a week ago in the White House Rose Garden, he asked Republican lawmakers, “How am I doing? Am I doing O.K.? I’m president. Hey, I’m president. Can you believe it?”

Trump Asks Reporters To Print 2016 Electoral Map

Still trying to frame his election as more than it was, President Trump pulled out an electoral map during an interview with the Washington Post and asked them to print the map on the paper's front page in honor of his 100th day in office.

The Post's White House Bureau Chief Philip Rucker on Friday said that Trump pulled out a copy of the map during an interview this week and asked for it to be included on the front page alongside the interview story.

"He brought out the map, he said, 'Aren't you impressed by this map?' " Rucker told MSNBC's Chris Hayes.

"He encouraged me to take it home to my colleagues at the Washington Post and try to run it on the front page of our newspaper. I think he was sort of playing there, but it speaks to the pride that he has in that map."
Trump has done a series interviews this week to mark his 100th day as president, which is Saturday.

On Friday, a Reuters reporter said Trump similarly interrupted an interview to show a map with the latest figures from the 2016 election.

It's notable that even with Republican control of the House, Senate and White House, the Trump administration has no sizable legislative achievement. The best that can be said is that the Republicans have "kept the lights on."

Sculptor Of The "Charging Bull" Angry Over Installation Of The "Fearless Girl"

Just about everyone is loving the "Fearless Girl" sculpture now on display in lower Manhattan in the Wall Street district.

Well, everyone but the sculptor of the "Charging Bull," who says the installation of the "Fearless Girl" has changed the meaning of his work, and is a violation of his legal rights.

The city's ruling to let the bronze depiction of a defiant girl remain until February 2018 just feet from the bull's flaring nostrils should be reviewed, said a lawyer for sculptor Arturo Di Modica.

"How did the process happen and should permits be revoked?" the attorney, Norman Siegel, said in an interview on Wednesday, adding that his client ought to have been consulted.

"He should have been asked, never was," Siegel said. "There are copyright and trademark infringement issues."

Di Modica told a news conference he envisioned his statue as a positive symbol, but that the addition of the courageous girl turned his bull into a villain.

"It's really bad," Di Modica said, sounding distraught and adding that the bull was loved by people "all over the world."

The 50-inch (127-cm) girl stands fists on hips on a cobble stone plaza, eye-balling the 11-foot (3.4-meter) bull that has occupied the space in Manhattan's financial district for nearly three decades.

Siegel said they want the girl sculpture moved and for Di Modica to be awarded damages for the violation of his legal, statutory rights.

Watson, who has developed a following on Twitter for his regular praise of Donald Trump, told the world he was "officially OFF the Trump train" in light of the president's bombing of Syria.

But when his Twitter followers began to get off the "Watson train" he took note, and reversed himself.

Watson explained himself by saying his original tweet meant he was "off the Trump train in terms of Syria, but I have not 'turned on Trump.'"

Of course, at this point in President Obama's first term he had expanded health care to 4 million kids and cut taxes for 160 million Americans.

Trump has issued executive orders and spent three out of four weekends away from the White House golfing at a cost of $10 million to the nation's taxpayers.
